thanks for coming to the powerhouse arena gristle book release party last night. in hindsight i apologize for not talking more, as i realized afterwards that people might have actually come the event hoping that miyun and i and the other contributors would talk about the book. i guess we thought that people just wanted to drink the free wine and be social. so, sorry for not talking more (i'm usually criticized for not keeping my mouth shut, so it's odd to be criticized for not talking).
tonight we're going to be doing a talk/signing at busboys and poets in d.c, the 14th avenue (or 14th street?) location.
oh, and as i was walking home last night over the manhattan bridge i took a couple of pictures of nyc. new york can be really photogenic at times. which is arguably the most self-evident thing i've ever written. here are a couple of nyc pictures taken from the bridge last night:

A local farmer just outside of town grew watermelons for a living, and he was doing quite well but was being hassled by some local kids who would sneak into his watermelon patch late at night and eat his watermelons. After some careful thought, he came up with a clever idea that he thought would scare the kids away for sure.

Hey Moby, nice photos of the passing traffic. I love the black and white too, I don't know why but black and white to me is almost more colorful to my eye. I just can't find the right words, but the different shades just inspire me in a very passionate way.
Glad to here of all the fun you're having sharing yourself with your supporters. Maybe one day I'll get to meet you and then I can take a black and white photo of us. Then I could perhaps publish it one day in the back (or front) of my first book... I don't know if I want my first book to be of small tales or of poetry, I just haven't decided yet.
anyway, I got carried away again and I am cooking so I must flee for now before I burn down the house!

Nothing like NYC at night; all sparkly. I will be in Brooklyn/ Manhattan next week. Wish I could have been there last night ; ( I'm sure your presence was what was most appreciated at that gathering. Sounds more like a party setting then a promotion. So I'm sure it all went well. Did people really comment or was it that you felt bad for not talking more about the book? Love how your so thoughtful and want to do the right thing. Talk; not talk... not wanting to be to pushy on promoting 'Gristle'. Free wine and hang out with Moby! count me in. Oh & I'm sure it was vegan wine right? ; ) Have fun in Washington DC.
