I think just eating mass-produced food in general is a bad idea, whether it's meat or not. A lot of questionable things have to be done to any kind of mass-produced perishable food in order to make it last the production and shipment process, and to give it as long a shelf-life as possible (to boost sales). Many of your fruits and vegetables are irradiated, coated with wax or chemicals to keep them shiny and looking good until you buy them. Other foods are processed in similar ways, not just meat. Any of these products, produced in natural ways, eaten fresh, and in reasonable proportions can be healthy. Any of them mass-produced, preserved by strange means of processing, and eaten in inappropriately large or small proportions is unhealthy.

I do agree with you that most Americans eat a ton of nasty food, and that this is one of the biggest health-related problems we have - that and the huge lack of active lifestyles with everyone relying on their automobiles to move them around everywhere. Just some good food and small daily exercise could change so much.

I'm very glad that I'm vegan when I read about such things too my love. I hope my son will choose to be vegan one day. It is very difficult for him, because when he stays at his Dad's house his Dad serves him meat dishes and expects him to eat it. Lil Brayden is only 5 1/2 years old at the moment.....I'm sure that once he is older he will be more bold and able to tell his Dad what he himself wants to and chooses to eat. In the meantime, I am his good example of a Vegan and hope and pray that my example sets him for his divine destiny to become a vegan as well. :)
