tonight's little death show was really odd and interesting. and good, i thought (although i'm biased...). the show was improvised and figured out on the spot. which made for both good and bad chaos. luckily more good chaos than bad chaos, with some really wonderful moments, like when aaron proposed to his girlfriend (now fiancee) and she accepted in front of everyone in the bar.
sometimes a well rehearsed and well planned show with great sound and a nice stage can be great. othertimes an un-rehearsed and un-planned show with impromptu sound and no stage can be great in its own way. a little bit of chaos in a hyper-structured world can be nice, or so i believe. unless it's in an airport. or an operating room. then i guess it's nice to have some hyper-structure. but a chaotic blues show in a bar on the lower east side can be endearing in its own right.

Saw you at the Edmonton show at one of the places with, I thought, one of the worst sound systems in the city what with the ability to bring out the static in a song. Haha but boy was I blown away with your show. To this day, It plays over and over in my head at just how AWESOME it sounded and from that moment on, I hope everyday that one day..i hope i have the opportunity to sing 'Natural Blue's' while you play. What an honor it would be.
