Just leaving calgary, headed to edmonton. Kelli and joe and kelli's dad and I have rented a car, so we're listening to johnny cash and talking about sturgeon. When I was 8 years old I was obsessed with sturgeon, and the fact that they were seemingly unchanged since the ye olden dinosaur times. And ceolocanths. Even though I don't remember how to spell ceolocanths. In general I think its pretty amazing that there are creatures who have been hanging around unchanged for 500 million years (or 6,000 years if you're a creationist).
Alligators, sturgeon, sharks, dragonflies, etc. And they all live in the us and a. Especially the alligators. 2 million wild alligators in florida and louissianna, eating dogs and golfers. I'm a bit alligator obsessed. America is the land of impending disaster. What other country routinely deals with: hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, 3 million alligators, lyme disease ridden ticks, lethal heat in the summer, lethal cold in the winter, poisonous snakes, and mudslides and fires? No wonder we're all insane.
To wit: I think there's a song on the radio called 'ragin' cajun'. And it looks like its starting to snow.

Edmonton Concert
I just wanted to thank you for a fantastic show.( a bit late). I have been a fan from the word Go. Your concert took me back to 19 years old with something under my eyelid, dancing to Mobility and other electronic creations until the sun rose at the Bronx nightclub. It was incredible to finally dance to Go live. You may have heard me shouting" Go, Mobility and Into the Blue". Thanks for playing When it's cold...; which is one of my favourites. I had hoped to meet you, so you could sign my Go remixes liner notes or just so I could say thanks for many awesome memories over the last seventeen years.

Alligators
Mo, I once visited Okefenokee Swamp. When I pulled up to the parking lot I observed several park service jonboats parked on the bank with several alligators parked beside these boats. I went in the park office and was told we could take a boat ride with the park ranger. I asked what about the alligators by the boats. The park ranger said they won't bother me because I am not one of the recognized animals they eat. He said if I were to walk a dog over there, they would eat the dog in a New York second. I said wow, some people say they look like their dog. The park ranger said I guess they should avoid alligators...

on the road? i admire your dedication and stamina. i would miss home way too much to be away for long periods of time. if you're back home soon, you should check out MAD's new exhibition nendo -- the preview breakfast is tomorrow, which i'm excited about. you will also enjoy the "slash" exhibition, but that's around until spring so you have plenty of time. anyway, hope your tour is going groovy.

Your concert in Calgary was fan-frickin' tastic! Thank you for going out of your way to play to the intimate crowd at MacEwan Hall.
If you have time, could you please let us know who your other back up singer was? Kelli was amazing - her voice is so hauntingly refreshing, but we need some info on your other extremely talented singer!
