have you ever spent any time with parrots?

have you ever spent any time with parrots? a friend of mine had a parrot who spoke english. not just repeating phrases, but actually speaking. identifying things correctly, etc.

i know, we humans think we're fairly smart, and we have done some cool things, like invent dentistry and fly to the moon, but how many non-human languages do we understand? do we speak dog? or parrot? no. but yet parrots can speak english. which means that even though they haven't flown to the moon or invented dentistry (which might not be needed if you don't actually have teeth) they speak human and we don't speak parrot.

so, parrots: 1, humans: 0.

and to anyone who says that parrots just dumbly repeat what's told to them please watch this video:

ok, i'm off to the uk again.

parrotopia on mars

i was just browsing thru moby.com(btw thank you moby & team for the free download :) )& i saw a blog entry herein about parrots & so i thought i would tell you all about an amazing discovery made on mars, its one of many martian discoveries that we do not hear much about in the censored media & it involves one giant parrot. go to the home page of www.marsanomalyresearch.com then click on the evidence button which you will find in the top left quarter of the home page. then click third button down which is civilisation evidence & Mars Parrotopia Revisited is the first report therein. sorry i cant provide a link, but i'm limited to using a ps3 online which is somewhat limiting. i think you will all find ths report fascinating and if you take some time out to read some of the commentaries in this site, i believe it will go a long way towards your own self-awakening, if that is what you wish to happen with your self awareness. :) peace...

Kuki was his name...

Hi Moby!

We had a parrot, a very small one, the most common, don't know the name for it. 26 grams of joy he was! Not only he spoke, but his little soul was a blessing for us. Things he did! Was just amazing...

Hey, have a good trip, you're so close to me now :) I'm in The Netherlands, Breda, best kept secret of Holland ;) Shhh...

wow

That parrot knows!
I've tried talking to parrots at the zoo, but they shy away. I even tried singing. They usually do what they do for their owners, or when they feel safe. Good luck out there and fun times. Early birthday wishes - *all the best* to you. Ride safe and try not to think about the St. Genarro festival too much. How very disgusting- I was craving funnel cake the other day, but I can only feel disgust now. Yeah, I don't get that around my area. good bye and good travels.

LOL

I'm going to try and learn parrot now. When I was a child I actually tried to speak to my cats in their language so because humans try lets put the score at, Humans: .5 (for effort) and Parrots: 1. I'm gonna go bark at my dog now and wiggle my butt at her to see what her reaction is...

Awwwww, Alex the Parrot is so sweet

Awwwww, Alex the Parrot is so sweet

And what an intelligent little birdie. That was such an enjoyable and precious video my love. Animals are so smart and I don't know why so many people say they are dumb, because that is far from the truth and indeed what humans understand and learn the animal languages? None that I know of. Well some people claim they understand what Dolphins are saying, but really, but have we heard a human talk in Dolphin language? If we have, I wasn't part of that news, because I've never seen or heard it. I wish I knew the secret to learning languages of other species. :)

Thank *you* for this sweet journal my love.

I Love, Love, Love *You* With All My Heart,

Your Eternal Love Rachelle

parrots

i had a parrot for years and did fostering for an avian club. my congo gray knew spanish and english and, without being taught, would tell us in both languages, useful things, like alerting us when the school bus was pulling up to the stop. Vamanos, hurry up!!

as delightful as he was, it became very clear to me that these beautiful birds do NOT belong in captivity.
