so the next single from 'wait for me' is going to be 'mistake'. and in the spirit of excess/indecision we've decided to make three videos for it...

-one animated video with the dog and the little idiot.
-one video involving a lemon and a sea cucumber.
-and one video involving paranormal experiences.

the lemon/sea-cucumber and paranormal videos are being finished right now, but the animated video with the dog and little idiot is all done and here it is:

p.s - i'll be posting the lemon/sea-cucumber video and the paranormal video in the next few days.

wait for me

I listened it several times. As usual Moby is great. His music is less popular now but more heartfelt. Very good party of piano. I like this instrument very much and want to learn playing on it. I dreamed about piano but can't still buy if. Financial situation gives about itself to know. Maybe I need to get no teletrack loan and buy it finally.

The paranormal video version

The paranormal video version is so unusual and unique. I'm very intrigued. I couldn't tell if you the gentleman was searching for aliens. I actually thought he was searching for angels/ghosts. Paranormal I associate with aliens more so. That video does have quite the X-Files feel to it and that was one of my favorite tv shows back in the day and little did I know your beautiful music had been adorning it and I feel that is why I loved the show so much, because my eternal love's music was beckoning me, submit your website

just a simple question...

Hi Moby,

next week you are visiting Belgium. I tried to get tickets, but at the moment the tickets were available and for sale, I was working (in order to gain money, to buy them). Above this ... they were sold out in less then 20 minutes.
Actual prices asked by Ebay sellers are stupidly high and by principals I do not want to play that stupid game.
Dear Moby, is it not possible that there is a tiny little, small change you have somewhere 2 tickets left over for me and my boyfriend.Of course I'll pay them.

I promess you I'll be jumping out above all crowd and you will see the most happy couple ever seen on earth and moon.

Thanks anyway, dear Moby, even if you do not find anymore tickets left in one of your pockets.
Thanks for all those wonderfull moments you gave and still give us with your great music and performances.

Greets,

Moby Drew This Cartoon On My Green Shirt After Bowie...

...And Now, 7 years later, his "Little Idiot" cartoon seen in this "Mistake" animated delight haunts me.

Sorry if this is long, but it's (possibly, for the melancholic and/or true Moby fan) a good read. And all 100% true.

I still have the neon-Green "flaming" Cowboy Shirt he autographed in his typical "cartoon" Sharpie-pen way in Canada '02 -- it's in my closet. Unwashed. Worn once every year or two. Moby opened me up to David Bowie in Washington State at the final Area 2 show in The Gorge Amphitheater; and then the next day in Vancouver, I thanked him for just that: Area 2, particularly giving us Bowie's enchanting (almost bisexual, fluid) performance. I literally hopped a 8-foot fence and ducked security to reach the Green Room -- I gave my own VIP pass to a friend. I then met/hugged/thanked Moby there, for his music and for David Bowie. He also autographed my ticket for my roommate whose father just died. Then I ate his yummie Vegan sandwiches, drank his beer, and chilled for an hour with his bad-ass backup singer and assorted awesome Canadians. It was my first, and probably my last, groupie experience.

Anyway, I just signed up on Moby.com, just so I could write -- am I really doing this? -- my sincere observations on A Cartoon Man and His Cartoon Dog. About how this song, and this video, expresses exactly what I'm feeling in my soul right now.

Loss.

Regret.

Sadness.

An entire life shared for years and years, that's now lost; like two beings existing in separate parts of the Galaxy. Who hasn't gone through this experience, who ever touched real love, or true connection? Then lost it. Perhaps a mistake. Bad timing. Nothing.

Saturday I got Moby's album "Wait for Me" -- finally. It hit me like a bag of bricks. It's my life. Any other time in the past 5 years, I wouldn't have felt it so personally. So viscerally.

The "Mistake" lyrics say it all. "Don't hurt me this way." "Don't let me make, the same mistake again." "You never felt this loss before, and the world is closing doors..." The New Order riff emotionally solidifies it.

As for the "Mistake" video, I may not be unique in watching two characters and concluding rather quickly, not only are they hurting, but they NEED to be together. By the 1:00 it's obvious on both ends: The dog and humanoid-idiot love one another, but something unseen is keeping them apart. "I never wanted anything more." Kudos creative visionaries -- I see two spirits, and they BELONG as one. Like Odie and Garfield, except they actually love one another. Vegan Cream Cheese (Tofutti!) and Bagels from near uptown Manhattan (yummie fuel before I protested Republicans in NYC in 2004). Like Bert and Ernie.

Like Moby and his fans.

I've been a Moby fan since 1999, and I'll be seeing him again on Sept 30 in Chicago, also getting those tickets Saturday. I get the "he thinks/acts like I do" like probably many fans, do. Minus the sheer talent. (Though, we are all made of stars.)

Now an amazing coincidence -- to me. If everything goes as planned, I'll probably have a planetoid Tattoo like the very last shot in this video -- as the Little Idiot cartoon and the dog are reunited, joined together, galloping to ... is that friggin' Jupiter? (The destiny planet in "2001: A Space Odyssey", possibly my favorite sci-fi. It could be. Jupiter does have rings: http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/link=/jupiter/rings.html) At any rate, it's a Giant Planet. That's *EXACTLY* the image, sans ring, I decided I wanted branded on my forearm, 3 days before seeing this video for the first time -- exactly one day before I got my Moby tickets and his most recent album (and Hotel, sorry, I've been out of the loop). Where did this vision of Jupiter actually came from for me? Strangely, conversely, compared to MOBY's perceived musical style (he's punk, though) it smacked my brain in the middle of one of the last NINE INCH NAILS shows ever, this one being in Chicago last Friday. It killed. (Q: Moby-Reznor Connection? A: They both toured with DAVID BOWIE, at their request. Plus, Moby can thrash, too; he'll just make a Spinal Tap joke first.)

I digress, but I have the moon/sun eclipse on one arm, I think one giant Orb on the other will bring some harmony and balance to me. For the first time in years I feel a firm "vision" -- one last marker, and probably no others for a lifetime.

For the record, that one tat is so small & "earthy" (there's flowers in it, too, symbolizing Earth) that it would easily get my ass beat in most biker bars. If I got another, it would only be my 2nd in 10 years. I'm no ink addict. Hell, I think Moby only has one. The cross on his neck. (Ok, kids, before tattooing, ask yourself a question several decades in the future: Will your 80-year-old YOU still A. want this droopy, blurry image, and B. BELIEVE in this image/idea? If you have faith in that answer being "yes", then go for it. No "Winona Forever" tattoos, ok? For me, I like minimalist and iconic -- and something designed or conceived myself.)

Again. This video nailed it cosmically, and most of all, personally.

I've lost my Orb. My soul. Something will fill it.

Mr. Moby, thanks again for taking one more star out there through your beautiful universe.

I'll be dancing my ass off Sept 30 at the Vic. With wild, orange-tousled hair. And maybe with a scabby, fresh, orange-tinged Jupiter cartoon on the bicep.

peace - david (pale, yes) chicago

sea cucumbers are special

even though they are the freakiest things you can find by your feet while swimming in the (pacific) ocean.

*when attacked by a predator, it will extrude its viscera through the anus and regenerate within two months
*it will survive when they are cut into pieces, each of which will grow into a new animal
*its genital hole is very small -- most possess only one hole, but a few have 2 or 3 genital holes, all with spawning function

Awe, I'm really loving this

Awe, I'm really loving this animated video. The man dog love in this is so cute. My dad is an animal and dog lover, and he has a fish pond.
When I was little I was told he liked to breed dogs to sell; and though I can't remember the one incident, I've been told that his own dog tried to attack me when I was still in the crib. But it is a fact that this dog had a special problem and was put to sleep. I hold no grudges.

I can't imagine what someone would feel like if an animal
destroyed their life, though. But if we look at things
from another perspective- a human can devastate you as much as any animal and the other way around. In fact, we each have the brain of an animal inside of our brain, called the lizard brain. The Lizard Brain is concerned
with survival. I'm sure that you have read about it.. It's our old brain, and it sits at the base of the skull, at the top of the spine. Humans can feel more supceptible to it in certain cases. More specifically, if there is little or no use of the 'new' part of our human brain, and through genetics too. Thus, I agree with the idea that we should respect all living beings as we do each other. We are far more advanced intellectualy, unlike other animals that don't have knowledge of
what they eat and what they do we are sentient beings that have a choice. And while I do respect vegan ideals, I also recognize that we are allowed in our nature to enjoy meals that would otherwise make us feel guilty if it weren't so entwined in our genes. So, in whichever case, I don't think that we should feel guilty for what we eat. But if we were to become more aware of what we eat it's a choice of personal will. Personally, I choose to eat certain things and not others for my health.

Btw I can hear the super mega influence of 'Joy Division' in 'Mistake'-so cool! So Moby!

about this song...

i think is great, i love it. At this moment of my life (emotionally unstable), touch me nearby.
I don't know much about you, I discovered you in a video of youtube few months ago (love parade 08) and I never thought that you had this energy (I liked the music so much!!!) well, suddenly I was investigating of you and realized that always you were thereabouts, with your music... all this years.
I do not buy discs because I am the type of person that likes the song, not the artist...(I hope that with this increases your esteem but no your ego) and i likes so much your music and also your videos that I wanted to have one... My curiosity was so big that i did not know... some disc to choose... And I bought your new disc and I am happy to have done it. And i want another, but i try to get some advice to choose the next time.

(perdona mi inglés... muy malo)

Heaven knows...

Hi Moby,
thanks for wonderful videos and the song mistake. Together with the videos and without also is so powerful song that it moves me deep inside of me. Is this paranormal experiences video on youtube. I think I saw one there which could be Mistake with paranormality. I assume it is. WOW this is really beautifully and skillfully made. So endearing.I watched several times and then to my surprise I started to cry. I think many people can identify themselves with the guy searching and searching. What is he looking for? Heaven knows... Are these your paranormal experiences...What a sublime beauty in the end. The LIGHT.

Do you know some days ago I saw "you" in our grocery. You were wearing a black T-shirt and jeans and you shuttled in between the racks. I just stared after "you" every time "you" passed by somewhere. Then at last I saw "your" face and "you" did wear silvery framed glasses and looked therefore a little bit different than usually. But I "knew" it was you. Then "you" diseppeared somewhere and I didn't catch "you" anymore with my eyes.Would you describe this as paranormal activity/experience, Moby??

I hope this message is not becoming too long...

Let my friend sing this song to you:

TAIVAS TIETÄÄ/HEAVEN KNOWS / JARI SILLANPÄÄ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WvRzHtPhXU

And the LYRICS to this song.

First in Finnish..The English lyrics underneath..My translation so forgive me - I am not a poet.

JARI SILLANPÄÄ - TAIVAS TIETÄÄ

Taivas yksin tietää
Heaven alone knows

milloin mies tää uskaltaa,
when the time comes for this man to have courage to

sanoa sen ääneen että yksin on niin haikeaa,
speak it out loud and say that being alone is so wistful (sad)

että ei oo laulu enkelten tai tuike tähtien,
thus is the song of angels and the twinkle of stars

vailla rakkautta minkään arvoinen.
nothing worth without love.

Nyt kun ilta taivaan rusko hiljallensa himmenee
now when the evening sky glow is slowly dimming

monet muistot yön kuin varkain valaisee.
many memories is it shining on like a thief.

kertosäe:
Taivas tietää
Heaven knows

sua kuin näin mä muistelen,
when I am recalling you

melkein tunnen
I can almost feel

kätes kädessäin hentoisen.
your hand so tender in my hand

Taivas tietää
Heaven knows

viime yönä unta näin,
that last night I had a dream,

että sua sain pitää sylissäin.
I was given you to hold in my arms.

Taivas tietää
Heaven knows

palata jos voisin vain,
if I only could return

aivan kaiken
everything

sulle soisin omastain.
I would grant to you of mine(/me)

Taivas tietää
Heaven knows

koskaan en voi unohtaa,
I can never forget,

mitä on kun paljon rakkautta saa
what it is to be endlessly loved.

Taivas yksin tietää kohtaammeko uudelleen,
Heaven only knows if we meat again,

voiko kukkaan puhjeta se minkä uskoin kuihtuneen.
is it possible for the flower fading to blossom again.

Omat virheeni mä vihdoin valmis oon nyt myöntämään
My faults I am now finally prepared to acknowledge

pienet sekä myös ne suuret, kuten tää:
the small and the big ones, like this one:

Vaikka hellyyttä mä kaipaavan
Even though for tenderness you were longing for

sun aina tiesinkin,
and I always knew it,

silti liian harvoin sua mä kosketin.
nevertheless too infrequently I touched you.

kertosäe
refrain:

Taivas tietää
Heaven knows....

palata jos voisin vain,
aivan kaiken
sulle soisin omastain.
Taivas tietää
koskaan en voi unohtaa,
mitä on kun paljon rakkautta saa.

Niin kuin mä tiedän päivän jälleen koittavan
As surely I know the day is dawning again

yhtä varmasti
undoubtedly

yhtä varmasti
undoubtedly

sua rakastan
I love you

kertosäe:
refrain:

Melkein tunnen
kätes kädessäin hentoisen.
Taivas tietää
viime yönä unta näin,
että sua sain pitää sylissäin.

Taivas tietää
palata jos voisin vain,
aivan kaiken
sulle soisin omastain.
Taivas tietää
koskaan en voi unohtaa,
mitä on kun paljon rakkautta saa,
mitä on kun paljon rakkautta saa

re: so the next single from 'wait for me' is going to be 'mistak

The opening track "Romantic Type" is reminiscent of the cross between punk and new wave in 1980; it's a nice track and quite a jolly tune to bounce along to. "A great rocking rhythm guitar strut comes in on "Caught In Your Trap". One of my favorite guitar riffs are on "Stop and Go", all in all pretty memorable songs.
They are getting more exposure on BBC Radio 1 in the UK, and it seems you can now expect this album to chart highly in the next few weeks. It deserves the recognition, even if it is not one that will hang around the chart for weeks on end.
It might not be the ultimate rock classic, but it is something you will listen to again and again.
I have heard of The Pigeon Detectives but haven't really focused on their music, there are some duff tracks for sure, but the overall feeling you get from this is it is a decent album, and a band you will want to see grow. I have bought it without using my cash advance. In their next cd, I will not also use my cash advance. To read more: http://personalmoneystore.com/Cash-Advance/
