ok, every couple of years i write about sports.
ok, every couple of years i write about sports. see, when i was really, really young i was obsessed with sports. i had a subscription to the sporting news and i made my own score cards and calculated players stats (this is when i was 7, 8, and 9 years old) and had posters of my favorite players and did everything in my power to be by a tv or radio when my favorite teams (when i was 8 years old: the yankees and the steelers) were playing. then at some point i swapped my obsession with sports for an obsession with music (which, so far, remains to this day).
but i still sometimes look at the baseball standings to see how the yankess and the mets and the red sox (the only teams that i actually care about) are doing. i know it seems odd, but i'm a yankess and a mets and a red sox fan. i know, that makes no sense, especially seeing as mets and red sox fans loathe the yankees (well, to be fair everyone outside of new york city kind of loathes the yankees). but, well, those are the 3 teams that i like. if either one of those teams gets into the playoffs or the world series i'm happy to root (or 'support' as they would say in the uk) them.
i'm sure by saying that i like the yankees and the mets and the red sox i've managed to offend yankees, mets, and red sox fans. if so, well, sorry. but here's why i'm writing about sports today: after i got home from sweden i looked at the news to see that the yankees and the red sox played last night and the score was 20-11. 20-11? really? that never happens (such a high score). or, that rarely happens. no, i'll stick with 'that never happens'. amazing. 31 combined runs in a baseball game? kind of unprecedented, especially as pitchers have gotten better and faster.
oh, as to why i like the yankees, the mets, and the red sox... part of it's geography (growing up in connecticut i was sort of equidistant from yankee stadium, shea stadium and fenway). part of it's family - my great grandmother loved the red sox (she lived on cape cod), my grandfather liked the yankees (he worked in manhattan), and when i was 4 years old i decided that i liked the mets (really). so don't hate me (or, rather, try not to hate me) for having tripartite loyalties when it comes to baseball. if it makes you feel any better, i have no loyalties when it comes to football. american football just seems like big business to me (you have a lot of money? here, buy a franchise), whereas baseball still feels vaguely home grown (i mean, in baseball some of the players even live in the city where they play...).
ok, that's my yearly sports blog. and, oh, the show last night in stockholm was really fun. thanks to the nice swedes for coming and even dancing.

My favorite sports to do are
My favorite sports to do are all genre’s of ballet, but my favorite is my major forte’ Neo-Classical, Modern Dance, Jazz, Salsa, American, Hill Billie Square Dancing (learned it from my aunt Lea when I was a little girl and have loved it ever since, even though I don’t like country music, I love square dancing, maybe *you* can write a non country song that is suitable for me to square dance to my love, smiles.), some Tap (but tap is my weakest genre’ of dance), roller skating, soccer (I did soccer from ages 9 to 11. My brother Eldon took soccer and my parent’s, siblings and I use to go to watch his games all the time and you could say I wanted to do soccer because when I tried it I was really good and I like to do things I’m really good at, most people do don’t they? Smiles and it was a good way to meet cute boys. Giggles.

Wow that score of the Yankees
Wow that score of the Yankees and Red Sox, that’s neat love. Amazing!! I’m sure *you* were proud. Angel Kisses xxxx This is so exciting to see *you* so excited over sports. *You* are so precious and cute!! I can only imagine how absolutely impressed your parents were to see *you* being so excited to the point of making score cards. It’s so special when one’s child has such a passion for something. That’s amazing that *you* did that my love. I’m not surprised, since *you* are such an intelligent whipper snapper.

You come to think of that
You come to think of that coaches in professional teams are simply what the teams are based on, without a great coach no team has ever touched the pinnacle of success. Alex Ferguson is the greatest of them all having coached Manchester United for over 2 decades and that club is just beyond belief. The coach is the mentor to his players egging them to perform like there's no tomorrow.

PROTESTA...
Gracias.
P.D. Disculpen en tono enojado/lastimero.
Hello moby. I do not really
Hello moby. I do not really read newspapers and I do not watch TV. So I did not know that you were in Stockholm and no-one told me but on the same day that you arrived here I got this urge to listen to your music, which I havent done for years ( I only listen to the same two tunes now over and over again that I actually understand the meaning of the lyrics now, which I did not when I was younger and these two tunes symbolise my life before and after a major crisis that came to a turning point in my life and made me more connected to myself. Sorry if this is incrompihensible (?)... Thanks. (I do not know what to say about sports)
Hi Moby!!

Usain Bolt
Baseball... all well and fine.
But come on man.
The WORD in sports right now is Usain Bolt
Usain Lightening Bolt
Word!
Bolt... at least deserving of a word.
and peace of course.
i'm not much on baseball, but
i'm not much on baseball, but my friends and i hate the red sox, so once i read that one of the only teams you care about are the red soxs, i basically stopped reading. i'm a san francisco giants fan myself.
but moby, you're a new yorker; i thought you'd be a basketball fan. not a knicks fan? well you shouldn't be because this is the golden state warriors' year to win it all.
nevertheless, it is exciting to see that my favorite artist has an interest in sports. can't wait to see your show in seattle.
Oh My, My Love Wrote A Long Journal About Sports, Wowers!!
Halo Honey Bunny,
Giggles, every couple of years eh. *You* are too perfect and funny my Honey Bunny. I so love *you* xo
When I was little I had a subscription to Donny & Marie Osmond’s dance newsletter and my favorite book was a dance steps book by them. Smiles.
My favorite sports to watch are ballet, all types of dancing, ice dancing, ice skating, skate boarding, acrobatics, gymnastics, car racing, baseball & softball, ice hockey (although I don’t like when the teams fight), basketball, synchronized swimming and my most favorite sports to watch are my son playing any and all types of sports, including having his wiggle worm moments and of course watching *You* doing your acrobatics and jumping all over the stage and DJ set, climbing up ladders and oh my, purrrrrrs…..Is it hot in here? Winks*
Giggles. The all girl team the Powder Puff’s was fun. I loved it, but I preferred overall playing with the boys, wearing my cute little skirts. There is some kind of power that a little girl feels when she can be really feminine at the same time as she is powerful and strong and the boys get so in awe by a girl with good prissy style that kicks there arses on the ball field, hee hee. I loved it. I almost thought about going back and doing it when I was older, but I was always more intrigued and passionate with my dance, but I must say that Soccer is awesome and I will have my son playing soccer when he is older. I’m also going to have my son do baseball. He has loved baseball since he was very little, because I had his nursery decorated in a baseball bear theme. Smiles. I also really enjoy jumping and dancing on trampolines, hiking, mountain biking, four wheeling, working out-I do Yoga, Jazzercise, Kick Boxing, Aerobics. I try to fit in a workout one hour every day to my normal health regimen. I love enjoying time on boats enjoying the water and nature. I love petal boating, that’s great exercise and so much fun. I did cricket when I lived in New Zealand, because all my close girl friends played, but I wasn’t that good at it. I love volleyball and sand volleyball (even though I’m not great at it, its fun). I enjoy jumping the waves near shore at the beach. I’m not the best of swimmers, but I enjoy a calm serene time swimming. I use to kayak, but no longer will as I almost drowned doing so before, so kayaking is something I will never do again. I love tubing in shallow waters, I love tubing down snowy hills, I enjoy cross country skiing, I love sledding and I love horse back riding oh and riding my bike and there may be other sports that I couldn’t think of too, smiles.
I too love the Boston Red Sox. Why, because they are awesome!! I’ve always thought they were awesome. My Uncle Kay (my Dad’s youngest brother) got me into loving the Red Sox, as they are his favorite team and I think because of how he got so excited about the team, and that was the only thing that he likes that really interested me too, I embraced his love for that team. It was nice to see my bitter uncle who was always too harsh politically, to be in a happier yes stressful state when he was enjoying a good ole’ game of baseball, Smiles. Oh and the first baseball bear I bought for my son Brayden’s nursery before he was born (I ordered it online) is a Bear wearing a Boston Red Sox Vinyl Jacket. It’s so cute. Smiles.
I also love the Colorado Rockies. They are the only professional baseball team that I’ve actually attended live games for so they are very sentimental to me, plus *you* know how I so love my Colorado and so that team will always be special to me.
Speaking of Football, I’m not a big football fan either my darling love. In fact, I loathe the football season when all the TV stations are over capacitated with football coverage. If I watch football, it is the Super bowl and only if it is teams I like, my teams, the Green Bay Packers and the Baltimore Ravens. Smiles.
Green Bay Packers – Because I lived in Green Bay for two years during my early college years and I saw how much passion and devotion the Wisconsinite’s had for their team and it was heart warming and impressive to me. I would see old people in like their 80’s all decked out in GB Packer attire (Outfits and jewelry). It was the sweetest also I worked a couple of blocks away from the GB Packer Stadium and I would see the team walking from and to and to and from the Lambeau Field Stadium, to their training field often and they were so nice. They would wave all the time. I feel a sentimentalism for that team and Brett Favre is my favorite Football player of all times and he use to be part of that team. OMG my love, did *you* see him on the news yesterday wearing a Minnesota Vikings outfit, OMG, that was so weird, giggles…Did *you* know the GB Packers and Viking’s are like sole enemies, so that was hilarious to see, hee hee.
Baltimore Ravens – Because my Grandpa Hamblin (my Dad’s Father) went to medical school in Baltimore and my Grandma and Grandpa use to show me lots of pictures of when they lived there, when my Dad was a little boy and the photos were always so fun and magical to me, thus I always have wanted to go to Baltimore also the Raven’s had a reality show on years ago when I lived in Colorado and I grew to love the team. The guys were all such wonderful souls. Funny too and thus I have this affection for that team, even though the current team doesn’t consist of all the same team members/players, that team is one of my two favorites, smiles.
Wow that score of the Yankees and Red Sox, that’s neat love. Amazing!! I’m sure *you* were proud. Angel Kisses xxxx This is so exciting to see *you* so excited over sports. *You* are so precious and cute!! That’s amazing that *you* did that my love. I’m not surprised, since *you* are such an intelligent whipper snapper, xo.
Those are all such sweet reasons for your adoration for your favorite teams my darling love. I really enjoyed this journal. I feel like I know *you* about 50% more than I already did. *You* are so amazing and *you* are so like me, *you* are sentimental with everything in your life. Your heart beats to everything and I love how and when *you* reminisce about years past. That gives me a more in depth light of your beautiful being.
Giggles, okay, that was such a wonderful journal (Do *you* realize *you* wrote the dreaded ‘blog’ word instead of journal at the end of our journal? Giggles. I’m thinking *you* wrote this when *you* were really tired or just woke up, winks*) my love and I enjoyed it so much that there is no need for *you* to write another sports theme one for an entire year, because it is so good, giggles.
I want us to go to Aspen Colorado to enjoy beautiful hikes in the most angelic spots of the world that I’ve ever been blessed to enjoy. I want to share them with *you* my dream come true boy.
*You* make me smile and I love *you* eternally Richard darling.
I Love *You* With All My Heart,
Your Eternal Love Rachelle
xxxx

i used to live right by fenway in college (oh two decades ago), my bedroom overlooked the fenway parking lot, so i would open the windows and watch the game on tv and listen to the crowd live. good times. then i moved here so became a yankees fan and a closeted red sox fan. i cheered during the several ticker-tape parades downtown. again, good times.
you know what i dislike about the new baseball stadiums? they made the tickets so expensive that some folks can't go. i teach many underprivileged individuals who lament the fact that they can no longer attend baseball games because even the bleacher seats are expensive. it's unfortunate because they are the die-hard fans.
yankees!!!
i like the yankees too, well since i live in NY (so since a few months....). but i like baseball since years (even if in belgium it's not really a big deal like here) maybe it's because i have an overdose of soccer because of my family... ok baseball and soccer are kind of different...
Oh and a few months ago i went to see a hockey game, and i can tell you that's a cool sport too!!!
have a nice weekend take care.
