a sad start to the list, as les paul died today.
a list.
a a sad start to the list, as les paul died today. les was an amazing man who invented, well, everything that made the birth of rock and roll possible. he essentially invented the electric guitar and multi-track recording technology, without which we wouldn't really have any of the records that we all grew up with. les had a long and amazing life and he was a gracious and decent man. goodbye, les.
b last night the little death played (as i'm back in nyc for 11 minutes) and it was really, really fun (plus daron and i, of course, played daron's gold top les paul guitar). hot and sweaty and messy and even more hot and more sweaty. probably the most enjoyable little death show yet, in my opinion. there's a little death cd out, and i'm sure that if you email the little death they'll happily send you one. well, assuming you give them some money. which will probably go to a good cause, like daron's long standing wine and stinky cheese addiction.
c for the upcoming north american tour we've announced 2 new dates, in las vegas (i don't know the date) and also the williamsburg music hall in brooklyn (sept 22). i'm assuming the information is on moby.com. or elsewhere. oh, and the tickets just went on sale for the shows that we're doing in mexico.
d we'll be doing a few more european dates in september, at ancienne belgique (my spelling, especially in french, is terrible) on september 8th, and also in porto on september 12th. oh, and an acoustic set at the rough trade shop in london on september 6th (most likely the very, very, very smallest show of the whole tour).
e when working with apple computers you invariably get the little spinning disk when the computer is busy or crashing. wouldn't it be nice if the computer said, 'crashed' so you could restart it? and if the spinning disk is a sign that you need to wait then maybe the computer could tell you how long you need to wait? ':15' or ':1:40'. just a thought for any apple programmers out there. i hate that little spinning disk.
f oh, and i think i mentioned that i'm playing a very small show in a really nice theater in stockholm next week, on the 20th. it's a part of the european unions initiative on climate change (that they're working on with mtv). an interesting show, as we'll play for an hour, then talk for 15 minutes, then play for another hour. at least that's what they told me. but i really have no idea, usually. thanks
moby

Les is worth to be
Les is worth to be remembered, his good deeds and contributions and invention are meant to be cherished. Did you know that the Gibson Guitar Corporation doesn't bestow a replica copy on just anyone, and Jeff Beck would certainly deserve it. Jeff Beck got his start like many others, playing sessions, until he was hired by the Yardbirds to replace none other than Eric Clapton. He played lead guitar, eventually leaving and was replaced in turn by Jimmy Page. Gibson has created a replica copy of Jeff Beck's Oxblood Les Paul – named for a rare shade of a reddish brown similar to blood, and the original guitar itself is depicted on the cover of Beck's bestselling album, Blow by Blow. The guitar goes for some serious extra cash – about $25,000 – but the Jeff Beck Les Paul will hold value for years.

Thanks to you and the band for (b)
Caught the show at Mercury and bought the CD. Third time seeing the group and was the best TLD gig yet. Thanks for another great gig and the CD made it seem like it was XMas in August, even with the mugginess, humidity, etc...

How you doin, mate? Taking my G/freind to the D.C. show Sept 18th, was wondering if you could tell me your set list so I can get her ready for the show.
I caught you first time on Jools holland show a few years back in London, do you still have a small strings section with you this tour
Respectfully
Antony
hy moby, as i am new here i
hy moby,
as i am new here i wanted to share some of my respect for you and your music.
i think the first time i heard from you was back in 2000 or 2001? when i was at the movies watching the beach and i heard this beautiful and melodic song that i just fell in love with so i had to find out who the author was.
since then i am one the fiew or many (i dont know) that can play moby over and over again and never get tired.
so thank you for making such a great music (i love the blues and melancholy you put in your songs)
I was also wondering why you don´t speak spanish if you can sing so well and have almost perfect pronuciation ...
As i live in south america i dont get to see you as much as i would like to, although i went in march to the ultra at miami i´d like to know if besides mexico you plan to go to other coutries in south america or when will you go to florida cause is so easy for me to fly there.
And finaly if you ever plan to come to my beautiful country (the galapagos islands are awesome and i have family there) it would be an honor for me to help you with anything you need.
Ps: i love joy division too
Good luck
with your trips events gigs and tour.
R.I.P. Les
and thanks for the list.
About politics, a little:
It's nice to see things your way sometimes.
At one time my greatest of expectations for this
country were settled on the Democratic party. Like many others hoping for change, I relied on pushing for the Democratic party to get us there. But as time went on my direction shifted.
It's not easy for me to take sides anymore, but even I did during the last elections. It saddens me to see your proactive efforts often hurt because you lean towards one party. Although, some things can come across
as political cockiness and motivations a little unclear. I know it's important to support our current president for many reasons, but it's also important to maintain a center perspective of things and not miss the overall picture.
I have a relative who was a Democratic councilman for more than four decades in my county. He has been honored and recognized for many of his efforts. Looking into politics as I have over the years, I find that the biggest problem is grounded on those that use and abuse power for their own personal gain. That's from where the worst of things emerge.
I only hope that one day *every* person will understand politics as much as they should and give themselves a chance to contribute and add to their own democracy.
Peace &
Stay safe
monger
such a prat you are. Rich, Richard, Dick, Dickie;
your Cinderella story is soo cute. Food stamps to Belgium.
basically you are an unattractive monger in the celeb world. you had a chance years ago and you sold your soul to the big man. you are a sell out; of which you claim is wrong.
your politics are never balanced. For the last eight years you bashed the GOP, yet this new administration has not changed anything. Where are your rants? There is a list, remember your lists? no more lists? fag jew suck up.
ride this coaster as long as you can, cause you know when you die no one will be there. You will only be remembered as a monger and a sell out. Fuck tard.
"fag jew suck up." Wow, you
"fag jew suck up."
Wow, you sound like a swell guy. Isn't there a white supremest meeting you're missing?
still don't see
when are you coming to Oz?!!! Still don't see any dates added yet!
just in case
Humm, it's Friday ......
This is off current subjects here, but, just in case ..... do you know Moby is doing Dj Resident on Virgin Radio every Friday midnight to 1:00 am (Saturday) this summer?
He is doing quite high level or quite specific way of dj for Rock music, I think! Usually I can know only one song (except Moby's own songs) out of about 15 songs he selected. In short, listening to his dj makes me/us feel very foreigners and very fortunate to get this kind of Friday night. Thanks Moby.

couple of comments on the list
Hey Moby!
First time commenting here, but I've been a loyal reader and fan for quite a while! Please keep the posts coming. I just wanted to say a couple of things:
1. Les Paul definitely changed the world of music and beyond. Sad news indeed. But his legacy will continue living through the outstanding work and creativity of musicians like yourself, and this is amazing (shortage of adjectives here, too).
2. I also hate the little apple spinning disc!!! Fortunately, the crashing occurs *much* less often than with PCs. I far prefer the spinning disc over the frozen windows blue screen...
I'll see you live for the first time in Philadelphia in September! Yay! Very excited till then! cheers and all the best.
I Love Your Lists and I Love *You* Honey Bunny!!
a. Rest in Peace amazing Les Paul. You will be missed, but your spirit will be felt by so many. Thank you for all you have done for music.
b. Honey Bunny, I am beginning to think that everywhere *you* are it is a sweaty and hot experience, Ooh Yeah Baby, winks & Purrrrssss
Back when I was not a vegan, I never did like stinky cheese, yucky.
I really love non-alcoholic sparking Grape Wine. Especially the Sparking White Grape Wine, smiles. xo
c. What? No, the Brooklyn one is on the 23rd, not the 22nd Silly Goose!!!! Giggles…*You* are such a teaser, naughty boy, tickle time purrrrrsssss
d. I so wish I was closer to Europe, sighs….
e. I haven’t owned an Apple Computer since I was 26. I want one again, but the last few I’ve gotten have been Hewlett Packer, Dell & Acer. It seems PC’s are more friendly with regards to school and business documents sending to the majority of people that are PC owners my love, but I so miss Apple’s and my son and I both want one. That is on our wish list for the future. We are content with our PC’s, but I am more of an Apple kind of girl. My Dad taught me how to use a computer when I was a very young teen on an Apple Classic. I didn’t learn how to use a PC until I was 21. Apples are better for Graphics and that is why my Dad has one and for music too, which is why *you* have one. I so want one. *You* are such a lucky spoiled little idiot, muaz xxxx but no offense love, most people don’t have Apple’s and I’ve only had two jobs where they had Apples, my job as Receptionist/Administrative Assistant at Arizona Macintosh Users Group back when I was in Phoenix in Highschool and my first year of college and at Praco Public Relations & Advertising in Colorado Springs when I was like 23. Lil Brayden and I love visiting the Apple Store. It is computer heaven, oh my, smiles…. I’m use to seeing the hour glass on our pc’s.
f. A show for climate change with MTV involved, wowers, that is exciting and for a good cause. *You* are such an angel. Sighs… I’m ever so proud of *you* my love xxxxoooo
I so love your lists. Thank *you* for writing this my love. It was a nice surprise to arrive home to.
I Love *You* With All My Heart,
