Hi from malta. Wasn't napoleon exiled here?

Hi from malta. Wasn't napoleon exiled here? Its an amazing place. Very rocky and old.

And today (well, monday) is the day 'wait for me' is released (except for usa, where its released tuesday, I think). I hope you like it. Well, assuming you hear it. If you hear it I hope you like it.

I apologize for seeming/sounding self-serving, but I'm really happy with 'wait for me'. I don't expect it to be a huge selling pop smash, as its not really a record that big pop audiences will have much interest in. Its quieter and more emotional and more mournful and prettier than any other record I've made, and that's probably why I like it a lot.

If you get a copy of it please let me know what you think.

Thank you,

Moby

Ur concert in malta

i luv ur music&was lookin forward for months to see u live in malta. unfortunately due to the miserable organisation of the event i missed almost ur entire set. and i was not d only one..
as u can see on d link below hundreds of ppl were disappointed by the dreadful organisation of cream/fresh malta. i just thought u should know how they do not care about ur fans, but only want to make most profit.
anyway, i - and i'm sure many other ppl with me - hope that this wasn't ur last visit to malta&that nxt time it will b a more enjoyable experience for all of us who truly appreciate ur music.

Grazzi Moby

I have just watched some of the clips I took with my camera during your gig here in Malta last Sunday the 28th. I would be lying if I said the quality of the clips is outstanding. Far from it. The content is shaky and waving of arms in the air has at times obscured the subject I was trying to focus on, that is you and the rest of the talented band in support. In my defence I would say that being along the front rows was always going to be tricky and at times it felt like I was being flung about like a punching bag, albeit a scrawny one. But it felt great nevertheless. And besides, the pictures I have implanted in my head are the ones that will remain for the rest of my days. No one can take those ones away.

So what can I say that hasn’t been said or felt before. Yes maybe being an “old raver” myself your gig brought a lot of old memories. Though I would have wished I got the chance to see you play somewhere or here in Malta back in ‘95 when, together with the friends I used to go out with back then, were at the peak of our “raving career”. Still the dream of seeing you live one day never faded. Just as some of your songs, like “God Moving Over The Face Of The Water”, “Everloving”, “Whispering Winds” and countless others never fail to have my eyes brimming. Admittedly I would have loved it if you belted out “Next Is The E / I Feel It”. That would have been the perfect trip down memory lane and a reminder of my heady techno days. Nonetheless you did finish off with “Feeling So Real” which I’m happy to say I have on vinyl and it is also one of my favourite techno / rave anthems.

So what else can I say except that in the end this was one dream worth waiting for. And in the simplest of forms Moby, I thank you for a wonderful night out and for creating timeless music that comes from the heart.

Blessings
c

Hi, I loved the performance

Hi,
I loved the performance in Malta and it was fantastic.
I'm getting the album as i think the music is very nice and quiet.

Napoleon

Napoleon was exiled to Elba

Hence the palindrome...

Able was I ere I saw Elba

Live in Malta

Hey

I was lucky enough to catch you play in Malta & it was a great night and you and the team put in a great performance...the setlist was pretty damn great too...everything from a pumping rave song which got the crowd going to Ring of Fire..not to mention all your classics!!! I really hope i get the opportunity to see you work your magic again

As for the album i'm going to get it asap but i've heard shot in the back of the head and its a great song...really soulful and deep

Keep up all the good work & well done for sacrificing commercial success on this album to satisfy your artistic desires even if i hope it does well from a commercial point of view...we've all gotta pay the bills ;)

KING MOBY

Moby is king

Brien Comerford

"Wait For Me" is masterful and so far it's gotten laudable reviews from the London Times, The BBC, The Chicago Tribune and Rolling Stone. It's a CD that grows on people and gradually permeates the heart, soul and psyche with salves and balms.

Pale Horses

Your new record is beautiful, it has similarities to Play but sounds dare I say more genuine??? Its not over complicated or trying just simple and honest.

Pale Horses is a stunning track, the vocalist sounds almost a little anxious with her diction which makes it sound along with the lyrics naive and also a little lost. Truly Beautiful track. LOVE IT!

Also I haven't checked but thinking aloUd, is the singer on 'Hope is Gone' - Hope Sandoval? Pretty, Pretty.

Thankyou for the music! Jemimah

Wait for me

I've just bought Your new album- it's absolutely great, just as I assumed it to be! I also think that it's much better than the 'last night'
The new album reminds me some of Your older songs, which I love the most.

Wait For Me

Really nice album mate as all the previous releases ;) I'm listening to it right now song by song and every track has someting special. Keep giving us your music because its fascinating... Greatttt Richard :)

show in Zamárdi next Sunday

Hi there! First time for me to comment on a blog.
I have never been on a Moby concert and next week I will be there in Zamárdi, Hungary. I have red all the comments of others on the show in Malta, so now I am really looking forward to see it!

(if you can take a swim in the Lake Balaton after your show you'll love it)
see you
hugi

HOW GREAT !!!!!

Excuses for the mistakes in my english but i didn't talked or wrote for a long....

I was a little disappointed when i heard "last night" last year....but, today, after waking up, i've cleaned my teeth, i took a look at my vegetables in my garden under a sunny sky (lol) and then went to my record dealer to buy "wait for me"....
I think we can't make a real own opinion for an album in one day, but, in this record all the amotions i felt for "play" are the same for those 16 new songs....i like "jltf" what a beautifull voice! mistake (of course!),"wait for me","shot in the back of the head" "slow light" etc...
Yes "wait for me" is better than "last night", i really hope to hear this new album played in live!!!! see you soon!!!!!!in Nice (france) the land of beautifull red tomatoes and Long way for this new record!!!
Respect

Good question, I had to look

Good question, I had to look that up. :)
Napoleon was exiled twice, but never to Malta.

Congratulations!

Woo-hoo- "Wait For Me" is here.

Maltese History

Well Moby, if you're really interested in the history of the small archipelago of Malta, it is very rich from that aspect. You can start from the oldest neolithic temples in the whole world which you'll find here. Apart from that I was really looking forward to your concert. I was there with my wife at the front & had a great time. My wife is also a big fan of yours. About the album, I ordered it today and downloaded the single Pale Horses. I love mixes. Altough the album isn't upbeat I love that aspect of your music. You cannot always be upbeat, no! My only small complaint is I expected the sound at the concert to be better but still had a very good time. And thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. LOL

New album released in Europe today

I`ll get it this afternoon, as my very own personal Birthday present... :) I`m 50 today and never felt better in my life! Woo hoo!! :) And thanks again for last Tuesday`s show... Beautiful!!:) Wheeeee!!! :) Lol! :)

Higher !!! Im Up Now !

Before few days i saw/listen/dream about you.Live on a festival.I dont really know if you personaly read my post but worth to try about that.
You are a great inspiration for me and your music express every single moment of happiness and sadness of this planet, from "lift me up" until "pale horses".Im trying to be a newcoming graphic artist and your ideas and your work coming up to my head every moment.i believe that you are one of the most important musician of this planet. Thanks for your time and hope to "see" you soon.
Thanks for your moment..

(p.s:sorry but my english is not pretty well)

hi body`

I guess he majored in linguistics in college check that out~

the impression is...

The music of this record is,as you said, quiet .Does the music manifest your current sensation or sentiment?I think you are a very professional musician. The music you made by yourself can be part of you.I like this part of you.

Nothing More than this, nothing can be

Hi Moby, I listened to all your CD I own, I think everyone you made, B-Sides included, and I think this Album is the best, awesome, sometimes sad, deep, one.
I can't explane what I feel with each song, well you might understand...you made them!
One last thing, Thanks Moby to do what you do.

"Thank You, Thank You, Thank You"

Your performance in Malta was just absolutely incredible. I was right there in the front row (well actually behind a shorter blond girl), waving like an idiot and jumping like never before. I took like a gazillion photos and some videos. Oh my god what a show!!!

and now, one last thing...
thank you, thank you, thank you moby :)

Josef

Fais moi une place

moby,
ur new album melts my heart.
Fais moi une place by Francoise Hardy reminds me of ur beautiful soul. dedicate this song to u.
i love u!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uLkVn7wlQ0

From Malta

You were amazing…I love your music and I really enjoyed the night yesterday

Coming to Malta…and seeing you live…you made one of my dreams come true

Thanks for your music

WAIT FOR ME

As my favourite album so far from you was the "18"(i was especially touched by the song "18")..i really enjoyed the new one. I somehow feel you're most sincere and most honest making a bit sad and i'd say light music. Light, because the feeling of letting go(from whatever people get attached with, loved ones for example) is very similar to the feeling what emerges while listening this album. I utterly like every peice of "wait for me".
And by the way, your voice is pleasant (the song "mistake). May be you should use it more often in songs:)
I've listen to this album about 7 times for now and it even gets better!

Best,
m.

PS. Can't wait to see you in Estonia.

Moby in Malta

Moby... Your performance here was out of this world.. When I listen to your music.. be them disco songs and be them the type that well ermm.. make my soul vibrate violently inside me... i love them all.

Shame I lost the first half hour of your performance due to the horrific queues there were to come in.. I was entering the field and thinkin... He's playin Go! and I'm not there to jump my heart out grrrr..

I loved each and every song played from then onwards.. I felt like crying when I listened to "In this World".. looking up to the skies and seeing my late 30 yr old brother who's been gone for almost a year now, watching the concert from up there... (His house was called Whispering Wind)...

I do wish from all my heart that you come back here soon and give us another breathtaking concert..

Keep it up Moby, yur a king, Thank You.

Amaryllis

wait for me

just bought your new album and it came with a bonus cd :) the new albums so good i hope you release a dvd for this one. i reckon for your next singles you should release either wait for me jltf or mistake or all of em cause i rekon they deserve to be made single the bonus album was great to good remixes of pale horses

Napoleon

I`m sorry, but Napoleon was not exiled to Malta. He was exiled to Corsica, which is even more beautiful. So I guess it was not too bad for him...:)

They seek him here, they seek him there......

Dear Little Idiots (that's a joke BTW :-)

FYI - Napoleon was not exiled on Malta or Corsica. He was in fact born on Corsica and exiled on Elba, just off the west coast of Italy, from where he managed to escape after only 300 days.

He then briefly regained control of France, which ended with his defeat at the battle of Waterloo. He was then exiled on St Helena in the middle of the Atlantic, some 2,000km from the nearest landmass (no quick escape route this time), where he died (possibly murdered?) 6 years later.

Apologies for sounding like an asshole :-O But hope you all learn something from the brief history lesson. LOL

Lovin the new album BTW :-)

So June 30th in the USA eh, go figure, winks*

You wrote: Hi from malta. Wasn't napoleon exiled here?

My answer: I don't think so my love, smooches.

So my countdown for Tuesday June 30th was correct? And it isn't coming out here in the USA Monday June 29th? Oh my, oh dear, now I have to go and do yet another bulletin explaining myself, giggles. *You* make things so difficult, smooches. As I've said all along to *you* my love, "You aren't kidding when *you* say, "Wait for Me", are *you*, so now I need to back track and get it out of my head that today Monday the 29th is not the USA release, and instead it is like what I believed before the 30th. Geesh, giggles....xxxxoooo

This is your website and your journal and your music and *you* can be as self-serving as *you* would like to be my darling. Angel Kisses xxxx. And I'm really happy with your album 'Wait for Me' Darling. It is so much more beautiful and unique than any pop smash out there and *you* are so right, it is prettier and more beautiful (*you* should use the word beautiful, sighs) than any other album that *you* have compiled darling love. I absolutely love it. It is my top favorite album of yours!!!!

I Love *You* With All My Heart,

Your Eternal Love Rachelle LaDelle'

radio 1

I'm listening to you now on radio 1. I have a couple of your albums and they are excellent. I may have to buy this one as well - it reminds me of a good summer when I listened to a lot of the album Hotel. I hope you enjoyed Maidavale studio, it's a legendary studio, all the best people play there

Malta

Actually Napoleon was exiled on the island of Saint Helena, although he did invade and capture Malta on his way to Egypt. New record is awesome, your best one yet:-)

you music

hi thank you so much for your music. your new album is so beutiful. we are sitting outside, watching the stars, listen to wait for me and are so happy to be. your music reminds us how beautiful life is. thank you so much (we peordered it on iTunes)

we are coming to Nyon to see you

monika & marcel

Napoleon's exile

Malta is marvellous and you learn to see color in a different way when you come back from Malta. The different shades of green will explode in your face...

Napoleon was exiled first on the island of Elba, Italy, from there he got back. The second time he was exiled on the island of St. Helena. That was the final stage of his life. No comeback.

New album

I'm really looking forward to Your concert in Estonia. And I hope i'll manage to get the album tomorrow!

Wish You all the best!

capitals??

well we'll get a copy tomorrow, but judging from the concert in london the other day it is looking good ;)
