i just walked off stage tonight in zagreb and a man came up to me and says, 'michael jackson gone!' what?

utter confusion, until someone else runs up to me and said, 'michael jackson just died'. i mean, what? really?

i'm writing this update before checking the news (which probably isn't wise of me), so is it true? michael jackson is dead at 50 of a heart attack?

that's what the people with the i-phones backstage are saying. i'm here on an island in a lake in zagreb, and i'm backstage with n*e*r*d and anthrax and the editors and everyone's trying to figure out what's going on.

now someone's showing me a google news headline and yes, michael jackson is dead at 50 of a heart attack. at 50?

so young. what a complete and utter shame.

Colleges in general want your

Colleges in general want your personal essay to reflect who you are and they also want a snapshot of you. This is not about academic performance they got test scores and letter grades for that, this is about what makes you.

no words...

such a shame to lose such a talented and generous soul.

yes, he had his problems, as do most people if they are brave enough to be honest about themselves, but for his issues he did so much in his time to help others all the while creating a larger-than-life persona to sheild himself from the world.

he will be dearly missed, that is for sure.

did you remix his song 'beat it' in years passed? i remember a cd with a moby mix on there. never knew if it was you or not. it was a kickass mix nonetheless =)

a ;P

hi .. i read in a free paper that you said some very unpleasant things about Michael Jackson and i felt very hurt .. i hope they were just things that the paper invented ...

"mickael jackson gone"

That's what Serge Gainsbourg would have called "Bad news from the stars".

Moby I feel like an insufficient poop head regarding all of this.

Nice Article In The London Times

There was a very nice article about Moby in the London Times the other day. I was not a Michael Jackson fan but he deserves to rest in celestial peace. Animal Rights and human rights are both a siritual, moral and planetary imperative.

songtitle

[@sunflower - comment on June 27, 2009 - 4:06pm]

'extreme ways' it is called... from the 2002 released album '18' :-)

There's always room in life for this <<

thanks!!

muchas gracias :-)

Songtitle?

I watched Moby at the hurricane festival last weekend and it was sooo great! I didn´t know the first song he played but it was such a catchy song and I want to hear it again. Unfortunately I don´t know how it´s called. During the chorus he sang something like "I´ll stand in line for this". Does somebody know which song it was? Thanks for your answer :-)

Thank you for the Zagreb concert

Thank you for a great performance in Zagreb! I really enjoyed it. It was a great overview of your past work with a few insights to your new album "wait for me".

BTW, I'm sorry for what you had to go through with those inconsiderate (not to use some more vulgar descriptors) people throwing light sticks on stage.

Anyway, I hope you had good time in Zagreb and that you will be visiting again.

Miljenko

You Just Know There Was More.....

He was a living reflection of what a twisted childhood can do to a person. He was amazingly gifted and unique. You just know he had more to give us. This is a tragic loss in many ways. I guess he's now completely escaped whatever he was trying to escape from here on earth. Just wish he'd seen sooner that, regardless of the ups and downs, it's pretty damn good place to stay.

What a loss...

Thinking of his brilliant songs, and then disappearing like this, (under the circumstances), is really shame. It couldn't have been his destiny.

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC...

... but I didn't know where to post it.

R.I.P Michael Jackson

Rest in peace Mr.Jackson, you and your music will be missed greatly in this small world of ours.

Moby thank you for all the amazing music you have given us and continue to do so, just heard "Pale Horses" and all i can say is WOW O WOW.

Can't wait for the new album :)

"Be the change we wish to see in the world"

hey moby

thank you for awesome music, incredible performance and one other thing..thank you for not quitting the stage after those idiots threw those plastic light rods. that really annoyed me.

I was just talking with my friends, and we all agreed we would have probably ended the concert at that point - thank you for being professional and staying on stage - and we hope to see you again very soon in Zagreb, on a tour or something! Zagreb loves you!

So sad...

Why does my heart feel so bad?

In Festival - Zagreb

You played 'I'm feeling so real' in Zagreb when the news about Michael Jackson's death arrived. It was totaly unreal...
But I wanted to say how fantastic your play was - the best I have ever been at. Sound, lighs, faboulous and georgeus Joy... I hope you'll came back to Croatia soon:))

I agree.

it's hard to believe he's dead and so young. I heard on the news that he abused prescription drugs. it's a shame he was involved in those scandals, so many of us grew up admiring him. The fact that he paid off people to shut them up makes the case worse. someone
called me on the phone to tell me yesterday, I remember.
I heard the internet slowed down, and this morning I woke up to thriller on the radio. He was a huge part of pop culture. the whole thing, what a shame. :/

moby:(6) (reset)

Yes. What a shame.

RIP michael jackson

so sad

i was at a baseball game yesterday and just before the national hymn the guy said, we'd like to do one minute of silence in honor of michael jackson who just died. I didn't pay attention to the name and then my brain realized: what? Michael Jackson? dead? my gosh I'm so sad! ok there were some rumors since a few months who said that he was dying (skin cancer, lung problem, etc) but this was not expected. waw 50 it's really young!

I also had send you an email & forwarded you an article

about Michael Jackson's death as soon as I heard about it my love from work. I was too very shocked and sad. I didn't realize that he was about to begin a tour in July to redeem his career. He had like 50 or so shows that were scheduled in the United Kingdom and apparently he was preparing for and practicing for such the past week. That was what he was busy with. I wonder if perhaps he got overly stressed, the poor guy. I have felt so sorry for him for all the muck so many people have put him through and mostly for his sense of seemingly not ever liking himself/his changing of his looks so many times with plastic surgery and he was never a bad looking guy until he began having alien like things done to his face. I don't know who his plastic surgeon/surgeons were, but they didn't do a good job at all. They took away his good looks to make him look freakish, but all the while his music remained phenominal and I honestly can say, "Halloween time without playing Michael's song Thriller, is not like Halloween to me!!" Michae's music was fun and his dancing too. He will be missed. I was just thinking about him last week wondering what had happened to him. Praying he is okay. After having heard an old song of his on the radio. All the horrible scandals that he had to deal with by selfish people who were trying to take him for his money, oh my, he went through a lot of unkindness in his liftetime. I hope he is at peace and happy in Heaven. For there people shouldn't treat him so badly. I pray for his family and loved ones that they may be comforted. Tis sad news hearing of his death yesterday.

Life is so precious and we never know when it could be our last day. We need to all remember to show love and kindness and tell our loved ones how much we care and love for them, before it is too late and they are gone and it is their time to be in heaven and/or our time.

RIP Michael Jackson

i`m so sad about Michael Jackson`s death..i just can`t believe it happened :( it is not fair that such talented and genius people die :( all day long the web gives more information and musical channels show his videos..it is so heartbreaking.. :(
some news articles in the web say that his heart stopped after taking "Demerol" (anaesthetic)..and when the emergency arrieved he was already not breathing.. :(
but the true reasons will be later..after dissection..- what an awful word :((((((

Moby, take more care of your heart, please...40-50 - is a very dangerous age for men :(

How Sad...

What kind of a God would give a serial kiddie rapist a scant five decades on this earth? You went too soon, Michael. Now I just pray for the families who will no longer be getting those juicy "hush money" checks from you. In this economy, no less.

If there is a hell, Michael, you're undoubtedly checking in right about now.

crap ...

you are a wicked person ... whoever you are ..
Sucker to believe the crap that other wicked people tell journalists .. just to get pocket full of money

unbelievable

a friend of mine say that to me yesterday at night (23h30 hour in france) and it's really hard to believe!
we put on the tv and many chanels on tv speak about it, a lot of people says their sadness, it's really unbelievable!

we think about you, it seems to me that you have worked with him, and the fact to have know him in person must strongly affect you :(

what to say now... michael has had bad times but also the know the best... die at 50 is better than die at 27, hum? :/

end of an era

It does unfortunately appear to be true, he dominated the 80's and 90's and so an end of an era has come - truely so sad at just 50yrs old and still with an entire future ahead of him, now just not meant to be...
