Online scrabble is notorious for injustices like these. I've played at two different scrabble sites recently, and both of them have - gasp - used abbreviations which is OF COURSE against the rules of Scrabble. The computer usually kicks my ass anyway though. I have to console myself with the fact I'm still scrabble queen of my friends and family.

Stop playing scrabble though and go outside and take pictures. I never get to travel so you need to make your silly, stuck state-side fans happy with some lovely new pictures for your gallery. I'm so jealous you're in Berlin.

I'm also addicted to online scrabble (instead of writing my doctoral thesis .... not good!). The online game's dictionary is apparently based on the two official scrabble dictionaries, that accept all sorts of unusual compound words and anachronistic "exclamations" like "Zooks" (a shortened form of "Gadzooks") but don't accept basic Japanese words that are commonly used in English -- as with your Brazilian dish, food terms like "udon" or "nabeyaki."

Grrr...

What's funny about me is- I had this habit, a long time ago, of mastering online games. And sticking with them for a year or two. Weird-not nerdy, I know. I am an expert at a bunch of time-a-wasting games, like hearts and gin.
but in my spare time I play poker. but maybe I'll play scrabble too, now. ;)) sounds like a fun way to master words. :DDD
