a few things. oh, with exclamation marks for enthusiasm: a few things!!
a few things. oh, with exclamation marks for enthusiasm: a few things!!
ok, thing 1 - npr are streaming 'wait for me' here. or so i believe. hopefully this is the right link. my internet machine isn't working too well, so i don't know if this is the right link. hopefully it is:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=105306540
thing 2 - this thursday at 7pm i'm having my first ever gallery show of the drawings i've done. there are around 16 drawings. they are all simple and naive and fairly austere, as i kind of like things that are simple, naive and austere.
the gallery show is in london, and when / if the drawings are sold the money will go to charity (probably the humane society). info is here:
30A REDCHURGH STREET, E2
thing 3 - here are some pictures from the dj set i did saturday night at matter.
http://www.matterlondon.com/venue/gallery
thing 4-i'm performing tonight, tuesday, at the royal festival hall. tickets sold out a while ago, unfortunately. well, fortunately for me. less fortunately for anyone who might have wanted to come to the show but couldn't get tickets.
it's the first live show of the tour and i'm nervous. well, hopefully it'll be good. it's about 2/3rds older songs and 1/3rd songs from the 'wait for me'. and there are 9 people in the band, including a string section.
hopefully see you there and/or at the gallery show thursday evening. i guess that's it. thanks,
moby
Patience Is Good....
Still waiting for Little Idiot tee shirts. Or maybe a movie. :-)
luxembourg and animal rights
Hi there
Since you are regularly involved with animal right related issues and you are coming to Luxembourg for a concert, you may want to check out this VG band that would be honored to play as a support band with you or just meet you if you don't like their music...I should know...I'm the singer;-)

!!!A few comments!!!
i went to see your show last night in royal festival hall.
i thought it was great.
2 comments: (1 +ve, 1 -ve)
i think you should have played a bit longer. great artists are expected to play closer to 2 hours or even longer rather than 1h 30min.
i really liked the ending song. when a band/artist is using a song at the end and they are playing it for ages getting it in a more and more intense tempo.
it feels like "KATHARSIS" , as if someone is watching a ancient greek tragedy!
other great bands i ve seen do exactly the same. Air is one of them and they usually do it with the song called "La Femme d'Argent" and massive attack also with a song i cant really remember its name.
so, well done for the ending bit!well thought!
Band
Hi, I saw the concert in London - was great! Thanks! Could you please list the names of the 9 musicians in your band? Thanks EH
Vocalists Names...
Do you know the name of the 2nd vocalist with Moby at the RFH? I can find details about Joy but do not know who the other lady was?
thanks
last night
I thought the concert was absolutely amazing. Felt very blessed to be there. Congratulations on a wonderful start to your tour! Hope showing goes great tomorrow.
Can we link to mobygratis.com?
Hi Moby,
We are running a not for profit 90secs short film competition on climate change. we would love to steer the filmmakers entering to your film music library...you can check us out at http://www.1minutetosavetheworld.com (its a soft launch so we're still not finished with the site...)
we'd love to see films coming in with a moby soundtrack and to let filmakers know about what you are doing.
We'll be sending the competition out around the globe and if all goes well will be reaching millions of people. We are hoping for some interesting work to come back from witness accounts to creative takes.
If you are inspired by what we are up to it would be very cool and very kind if you would give us your blessing and maybe a quote of encouragement to people entering and photo of you for our home page?
Good Luck with your exhibition on Thursday!
peace

Interview at TW Classic?
Hi,
Maybe you allready received a mail from Luci (Butler), but since I read in your yesterday's journal your internet isn't working so good, I try it also this way.
I would like to have 15' of your time for an interview for ENTER Magazine, when you play in Belgium this saturday. I also had an interview a few years ago with Luci for this magazine, she has put the article on her website (thanks for that Luci!).
Would it still be possible to arrange this? If so, I would be extremely thankfull because it is always difficult for a small and free magazine to have an interview with an international artist.
Thanks for a small answer anyway!
Cheers,
Yannick, Belgium

The Humane Society
Moby merits approbation and plaudits for utilizing his boundless talents to help support the Humane Society, PETA and many other compassionate causes that aid humans and our fellow creatures.
oh! here's some more exclamation marks for you!!! i like them!!!
thing 4 - i hope your first live show of this touring season went especially well for you. it's nice that you felt comfortable to say on here that you felt nervous beforehand.
thing 2 - I'm glad to hear that you are formally putting your artwork into an exhibition like that. You're multi-talented and i reckon that you're drawings will really like being there at the gallery. so that means some of them will be going off to new homes I guess. no doubt they'll be well loved. and GOOD ON YOU!!! for giving away the proceeds to a charity. the humane society is a great choice!!!
speaking of which, i've been doing some research about climate change and am pleased to announce that i've uncovered information which appears to indicate that not only could a big shift away from too much animal production on the land to much more plant crops (grown in holistic ways that are good for the soil), be helpful in averting climate catastrophe, it might be THE thing that could make difference initially to steer us back on track because of how changes to agricultural practices can result in heaps of extra carbon dioxide being drawn down out of the atmosphere which has a directly cooling effect on the planet.
in fact I spoke to you about that very thing on an audio cassette tape very recently and included it in a package that I sent to d-e-f which is still there right now I believe. i'm presuming that you chose not to collect the tapes (or otherwise you are generally not able to check out anything new at the moment), but if you change your mind prior to the courier arriving in there to collect them to bring them back to me, you are still welcome to take them. maybe you would have seen my message under your other most recent List post about how i think you'd make an interesting novel character. i'd tried to get all of that off and away to you before you started touring but didn't quite manage to due to some unforeseen circumstances. then i'd imagined that hotel rooms might be decked out with stereos that you can actually listen to cassette tapes on, but maybe i was wrong about that.
anyway, i'll be contacting the humane society myself about the information that i have uncovered and maybe someone from in there can fill you in on the details.
by the way, if i feel inclined later, i might send your manager a little request to give you the copy of a piece of artwork of mine that is on the cover of one of the cassette tapes
best of luck at the exhibition and with the rest of your tour.
a few things with an invisible exclamation mark
The invisible exclamation mark is because I told myself that I'm overly excited too much on the internet always putting those.... So they are there just invisible.
Listening to wait for me on NPR. Loving it....... FYI I don't download your music for free I buy it because I believe in it......

ummm. i hate myself for being honest
dude, moby, I dont want to offend you, but i am suprised at this new album and how slow it is....your putting me to sleep. I LOVE YOU MOBY! so dont take it the wrong way when I say you should release this album for free, becasue if I bought it before I heard it, I would want my money back.....remember i love you

And *You* know how I absolutely Love Exclamation Points ;)
Thing 1) Well, 'Wait for Me' is literally a true statement, for me anyway. I did have to wait for your album my love. I didn't get to hear it in it's entirety full swing earlier when NPR first aired it. I was so distressed, ticked off, saddened and bummed out when the darn Lightning Storm knocked out my Comcast internet/cable provider's connection in my area (*You* know how I love Lightning, well he wasn't my friend today that's forsure, gurrrr). I was listening to the live stream and it was playing your song 'Shot in the Back of the Head' when it happened. The music was playing, I was thoroughly enjoying it and then suddenly, boom, without any warning, the music stopped and the buffering hour glass showed up. I looked at my modem, there was no connection, so I rebooted the modem, that didn't fix it. I then rebooted my computer, that didn't work, I rebooted my vonage device that didn't work. I tried all of such over and over again and then realized I didn't hear the tv. So I looked over the Veranda downstairs and realized the television was all fuzz, no picture, so I went downstairs and tried changing the different tv channels to see if anything worked and no channels worked. So I called Comcast to plead with them to please turn on my cable IMMEDIDIATELY, because I was missing your album and I didn't know if NPR would be including the stream after the time when it was to air. So as *you* can probably imagine, I was so frustrated. Well, Comcast told me that due to the Lightning storms, there were problems in my area and the Techs were out on site fixing the problem, but they couldn't give me a definate time of when it would be fixed. So alas, I was so sad thinking I was missing out on hearing your new album and I did wait up for two hours my love, but then I went to bed, because I was falling to sleep in my chair and I still have my sinus infection, so I wasn't feeling good as it was. I laid in bed so sad that I missed out on your new album, but in my prayer I did ask that I be granted a way to hear the album elsewhere, if NPR didn't keep the stream up for me to hear later and so when I awakened this morning and was greeted happily by a working internet connection and I noticed that NPR did keep up the stream for me to play, Oh My, *You* don't even know how happy and relieved I was. I'm ever so blessed. Sighs. And I Sooooo enjoyed the new album. Actually, I'm enjoying the new album. It is playing again right now as I type this my love. It is by far my TOP FAVORITE ALBUM EVER and I'm not just saying that, I truly mean it. I didn't think another album would come along that I like more than your 'Play' album, but alas one did. It is so beautiful!!! I hear angels and I feel like I'm in a huge cathedral. It is perfect music for my jenre' of dance 'Ballet'. It is so emotional and deep. So full of passion. The most moving album *you* have ever done my love. Congratulations Mo!!!! Angel Kisses xxxx I need my box of tissues with me though. And that isn't just because I have my sinus infection, it is because of how emotional and sad the album is. Kisses. xxxx
Thing 2) Mom wrote me an email last night and asked me to tell *you* good luck at your Gallery Show. Honey, I hope that *you* will have photos or a video of the artwork that will be displayed on that lovely evening. I soooo wish I could be there. Have a fabulous time and may *you* have a wonderful turn out. Muaz xxxx
Thing 3) I love the photos from Matter. The photographer did a great job. The colors are so vibrant and I want to kiss your neck where your meaningful tatoo adorns. I usually don't like tatoos at all, but yours is so sexy, purrrrsssss Angel Kisses xxxx
Thing 4) Goodluck tonight at the Royal Festival Hall my love!!!! *You* will do Awesome as *you* always do. Calm down. Don't be nervous. Do some yoga and/or meditate today to help *you* be mentally prepared for the big moment. I'm so proud of *you* that *you* are venturing out and doing more live performances. I know *you* took a break from such for a while, except with your band. It is so nice that *you* are sharing your other talents. We love your DJ Sets, but love your instrument playing and singing even more so my love.
Have a beautiful and magical day Mo.
I Love *You* With All My Heart Moby Richard Melville Hall
