list. time.
list. time.
1 yesterday was my first ever earthquake. or, rather, the first earthquake of which i was aware. i might have experienced other earthquakes and just assumed they were subways going by underground. sometimes in the angelika theater on houston and mercer you can get a 'sensssuround' effect from the passing subways. this doesn't work so well if you're watching 'remains of the day'.
2 sometimes i'll be doing interviews and rambling on and giving overly long answers to interview questions and i'll start to wonder 'do i sound like a crazy person?' i think that's a valid question to be asking oneself in the middle of an interview. and no, i don't have an answer. people reassure me and say, 'no, you don't sound like a crazy person' but i have a feeling they're just being nice.
3 yesterday i was shopping at erewhon health food store and i was wearing my bad brains shirt(well, one of my bad brains shirts, i have about 4), and the guy ringing up my groceries asked me, 'so, your vatican commandoes shirt is in the wash?' that made me happy. ctXhc.
4 i just passed the key club, where the cro mags are playing on june 2nd. if i was in l.a on june 2nd i'd go see the cro mags at the key club. nyXhc.
5 whoever invented vegan tacos should be sainted and/or knighted and/or given some sort of congressional medal of honor and/or tacos. if i were on death row i think i would want tacos as my last meal. they are perfect.
6 i thought it was nice that they let me wear one of my bad brains shirts on 30 rock. again, nyXhc.
7 my hotel in l.a looks into a dog run. it is perfect. like tacos. but involving dogs. whoever invented urban dog runs should be sainted and/or knighted. and/or given the congressional medal of tacos.
8 i think that's it for now.
9 oh, music promotion: at some point soon we'll be putting up the video and remixes for the next single. it's called 'pale horses', and my friend amelia sings on it. it's a sad song. i hope you like it. my friend elanna directed the video. it's cute and sad and involves taking a train to the moon.
10 i think that's it. tuesday morning i think i'm going to talk to jason bentley on kcrw. i might also play some more songs from 'wait for me'.
thanks

My first post is to condone MOBY for all his wonderful music especially the ambient CD's such as "The End Of Everything" and the "Little Idiot" CD that accompanied "Animal Rights." I also highly appreciate his reverence for the lives of all creatures, his veganism and his humanitarianism.
You inspired me to put Vegan Tacos
on my weekend meal preperation list. I'm going to make them Saturday night. Yummy. Smiles.
I always love your lists my love. They are so much fun and I usually learn new things all the time that I didn't know before. I especially love that I learn so much more about *you* after having read them. Smiles.
Thank you for this wonderful journal Tweetheart.
I Love, Love, Love *You* Eternally,

moon
How could taking a train to the moon be sad? Guess I'll find out..
glad your trip to LA was fun, esp. the earthquake part (that was one of the better ones we've had recently)
well, i interviewed you today...
... so i can attest that you absolutely do not ramble on like a crazy person. on the contrary, you speak with eloquence and in earnest. if all my interviewees were as genuine and affable, my job would be a whole lot nicer. regrettable we couldn't speak longer.
many thanks.

I think is comment 44.
List time! My favorite.
1. Believe it or not, I own a bad brains T.
2."Pale horses" reminds me of the song "fleur blanche". Idk why... Even though "fleur blanche" is unlyrical.(Is that even a word?)
3.Whoever invented vegan tacos doesn't deserve to be sainted, he or she deserves a life-epicurian legacy award.
4. I wonder if a sound like a crazy person too. But that's usually my secret weapon.

No, you're not a crazy person, you just have your own unique beliefs and viewpoints.
Also, I can't say definitively because I have once again let several days go by before catching up on your journals, now doing so here after realizing it was displayed here as well, and you can comment on them, which wasn't true years ago when I used to visit the site, and also thought you are more likely to read comments posted here, all of which I mentioned in reaction to your "Family Guy" entry, and again in the last entry you had posted at the time, trying to convince you to watch "South Park" on Comedy Central and also locally (my Orlando, FL station plays 2 episodes back-to-back every weeknight at 11PM) if a local NYC station carries it, and now I find that in your my space posts you link to your site here for people to comment here, and I suspect I may have had something to do with that. So now the secret's out, and you've got my space posters to your journal heading over here- including one who may not be too stable, proclaiming her love for you in every post. Nevertheless, I'm glad if I played a small part in helping to consolidate comments to you into one place.
Anyway, I'm not sure I'll get an answer (but if so, post it to http://www.myspace.com/b8 in a comment or message, or simply email me at xtx@mac.com): I haven't finished going through all the music on mobygratis.com to possibly use in an independent feature film I just got the financing for and will shoot towards the end of this year, but is it as simple as clicking "Request license" for any music I wish to use? How long is the response time, and do you need to see the footage it is being used for to grant permission? Is it a separate deal for your Singles and songs from your Albums (which I've been collecting since "Everything Is Wrong"), in that you must pay up-front for use of any of this music (as opposed to deferred payment once the film is sold)? I'm really looking for something fast-paced and powerful- yet beautiful- like a lot of Trance music is, as well as much of your own work has been. I really hope to hear back from you, though I'm unsure you'll read this- so perhaps this isn't the proper forum to discuss business- but I figured I'd try this before exploring other means.
Stay cool/Be strong.

Musings
Hi Moby!
I always look forward to reading a new entry in your journal. You're a great writer (as if I hadn't already figured that out with your lyrics), and I love your writing style. I admire your veganism, and I definitely agree about the tacos! Thanks for posting such fantastic musings.
:D
Ah, the trains.
I remember staying the night at a friend's
in the Bronx. Nothing like the rattling
motion of the buiding walls as the trains course on
the overpath. That's the closest
I've ever got to experiencing something,
sort of, like an earthquake, sitting
on a couch eating tostitos dipped in
mild salsa.
Vegetables are nice, and so are fruits...I would
also give a honorary award to the god head that
invented Hawaiian pizza. It's one of my favorite
meals during holidays. As well as the Russian
salad my mother loves to make. Speaking of which,
Hawaii is also a place I'd like to visit.
The thought of sitting, sippin' mai tai under the maui sun speak to me so sensuously.
I can't wait to see the new video.
And hear the songs.
You're a wonderful artist.
Thank you for sharing so much with
your public.
getting hungry...
...would love to try a vegan taco as well. doesn´t even have to come with an earthquake or an urban dog run. i´m just having this delicious fantasy of a vegan taco right now. cheers, chris :-)
You a twitter right? This video is FUN-NY!!

'so, your vatican commandoes
'so, your vatican commandoes shirt is in the wash?'
as a former ct resident myself, this also makes me happy. although i'll admit that i've never heard "the vatican commandos," but it's still pretty great that the grocery guy knew enough to drop that reference. he must've felt pretty proud of himself afterward (and understandably so).
to the previous commenter, ctXhc and nyXhc means connecticut hardcore and new york hardcore (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_hardcore), respectively.
Tacos
Now I borederline need and definitely want tacos...
Pale horses
Hi Moby,
I really like the song. They played it on the radio here in Belgium. And I've heard it twice. It's even the "hot-shot" like they call it (Every week/month (don't know actually :p) they pick a song-of-the-week/month and name it the "hot-shot"). It is indeed a sad song, but it's a good one. I think it sounds a bit like one of you earlier songs.
Btw, what do ctXhc and nyXhc (New York ....?) mean? I'm not familiar with these abbreviations.
