thanks for coming to 9:30 club last night. at around 1:30 a.m the power on the whole block shut down. so we waited for an hour and then announced that we were going to reschedule, as the power hadn't come back on. then just as we were leaving (p.s-the 'we' here is my friends and i, not a royal 'we') the power came back on and i played until 4:15 or so. i hope everyone was able to get back in and stay up late.

in the spirit of speaking truth to power, whatever form power may take, willingly or not, i'd like to state that i left the 930 club because the dj that opened for you said power was not coming back, and that we'd get a refund. how was i supposed to make it back to the club? my hearing is not that good. and i called the 930 club and they told me that they were not giving out refunds, which i guess is sort of understandable because then you couldn't tell who stayed and who left, who'd be entitled to a refund and who wouldn't, but i somehow feel royally screwed, albeit in a way that is not entirely someone's fault per se. just sharing, i guess...

I've waited since Pimlico to shake your hand, where I almost did but got crushed by the crowd and you backed off! Finally got to shake it many times last night. And got to dance until the sweat was pouring down my neck and my hair getting tied in knots. Wow!
Have a great visit to DC. We can be a pretty mellow town, not used to this many celebs. Been a bit of a riot these days. Of course we're excited for change. We Live here. We know what goes on in the Capitol and behind the scenes. We want our country back.

I stayed, along with my friend... walked out a few minutes after the re-schedule only to hear the stage manager on the phone say "bring him back" (http://tinyurl.com/a2zybu)... thanks for the great set last night given the timing and conditions... I look forward to the possible re-schedule. It was a practice in faith in a way! :-)
