ok, this might not be of any interest to 95% of you, but i work under the assumption that 5% of
you will love this comprehensive animal adjective list as much as i do.
your creepy word nerd,
moby
p.s-animal is followed by adjective. 'myrmecophagine' for anteater is probably my favorite. also 'noctilionine' for bat. i'm not an etymologist, but wouldn't
'noctilionine' mean 'nocturnal lion'? nice for bats.

Animal Name: d-
When to God's fondouk the donkeys are taken –
Donkeys of Africa, Sicily, Spain –
If peradventure the Deity waken,
He shall not easily slumber again.
Where in the sweet of God's straw they have laid them,
Broken and dead of their burdens and sores,
He, for a change, shall remember He made them –
One of the best of His numerous chores –
Order from some one a sigh of repentance –
Donkeys of Araby, Syria, Greece –
Over the fondouk distemper the sentence:
«God's own forsaken – the stable of peace».

Maybe because my birthday is on the 9th day of the 9th month! (September 9th) Haha so yeah.
-but anyways!
I like the sound of "wombat" and "musteline" and "vermian" haha!
Karla
wow!!!
wow how long did it take you to write up that list? but maybe you copied and pasted it from somewhere else.
either which way it lets us see just how much a true word nerd you really are!!
i'm very impressed!
well me with my hominine tendencies, here inside my little house i have a lovely lemurine picture stuck to the side of my fridge and a charming porcine picture stuck onto the outside of an art folder, together with a few other images including a flyer for 'earthlings' - speaking of which, i bought a copy of the DVD but i haven't quite got around to watching it yet (probably because just after I bought it someone told me that it is the most disturbing film he's ever seen).
in other news, there are a number of giant limacine creatures that slide right on into my flat each and every night. it's true. they don't bother me too much, so long as i don't get that dreaded squelch sensation under a bare foot when I'm on my way to the loo in the middle of the night.
the man who lived in this flat before me was a dancer and he once took a number of those limacine creatures out with him and performed a dance with them sliding over his body.
cool huh?
I guess I'm part of the 5%
Hi Mobydinine,
I guess I'm part of the 5% because the animal list kinda strikes me funny, although my favorite is phascolomian...I've always thought that the word wombat was pretty funny for an animal. I used to call hickies - wombat marks. (Too much information I'm sure). Anyway, thanks for your entertaining list.
