apparently indie 103.1 in l.a is being taken off of the air today.
if that's true it's a tragedy. indie is arguably the best commercial station in the country. l.a will still have the truly amazing kcrw, but it genuinely makes me said that indie is being taken off of the air.
every time i've gone up to indie to be interviewed i've invariably thought, 'they let a radio station do this?' from david lynch's weather reports (he looks out the window), to steve jones' show (where he plays what he wants to play, or just talks. or doesn't talk, and just sits there and whistles), to suicide girls (which i just did, and which was a really fun interview), to joe escalante's morning show it really is/was an amazing station. i wish i'd known they were shutting it down, i would've done what i could to help.

Now the hospital takes necessary blood components from a hemotransfusion station (blood bank) and the blood components are delivered to the hospital if they are available. But if not …

We have already collected 2 900 000 rubles. 2 800 000 rubles are left. The sum is big, very huge. I agree. You will ask yourself why me? I will answer, if somebody gets into a trouble, you would help, I am sure!!! And in this situation it is not important that the children are Russian. Children are children everywhere! It is always sad to see stations, organizations and companies...
for that matter close doors and shut down. It always puts a sting in my heart, because I imagine the reason they shut down were due to not making enough money to operate and this economy/the depression we are in makes me wonder and worry about how many more places I will see closed down. At our Edison Shopping Mall here there are many vacant shops, tis very sad.
God bless those out of jobs from the radio station and hopefully a radio station as good as it will come to play in the future.
