i'll be dj'ing twice in dc, on sunday january 18th and monday january 19th.

sunday january 18th is at 9;30 clubl(i go on at 1 a.m, i believe), and monday january 19th is a shep fairey / moveon party with santogold and others.

I never felt welcome on the boards. The haters made sure of that. I'm glad the boards are gone. We need more love, not hate in the world.

Hello Moby, I'm sorry about your flu, hopefully you will be able to dance on the inauguration. I heard Mariam and Amadou from Mali are playing: Obama sounds more cool every day: I also just read that the Obama's recently started eating organic food as well. Anyway, we said we'd come to America if Obama would win and we can keep our promise thanks to our friend living in New York. So we'll be there with our girls (Anouk is 8 and Alice is 6) the first two weeks of April: I hope you might be asked to do something in the open air, or something small somewhere so we could all come to see you perform: it will make us feel very real on our New York stay! Hey J-Mo,

Happy New Year! :)

I liked reading your quotes from Obama's book and seeing some new pics. I came here tonight because I went to sign on to the boards and got a message that they are no longer available. Wow, hard to believe that after all these years they are no longer there.

The boards were like an old friend I could go to whenever I wanted... somewhere to get support during the fall out of 9/11... or during other tough times... somewhere to connect with people when I was feeling alone/blue... somewhere to share some news of some big change in my life... or to stay connected with some of the friends I had made there... or when I had a thought or a question... I always knew I could post about it and that I would receive some feedback.

I liked it best when you used to share there j-mo and the odd time you would comment on a post... cuz it felt like you cared and were a part of the community. I liked that we were pretty much uncensored which is practically unheard of on internet boards. I liked that your boards brought together people from all walks of life and for most of the time, there were intelligent and thought-provoking posts and opinions shared. Sure there was unnecessary drama from time to time... just like most dysfunctional families but overall the boards were good... a community... a place to stay connected... a place that one could rely on... a place to be entertained and spend mindless time... and now it is all gone.

It is sad... and I will miss them… but I was not really going there much anymore. I guess it was inevitable... since you never charged anyone for them... and ever since you stopped being connected to them with your new website... I sensed something was amiss.

It is what it is.

Thank you for providing the moby boards for us for almost a decade... you gave and asked nothing in return - a rare gift and I really appreciate it.

I wasn't active on there long, because I seemed to arrive when most of the main boardies were constantly quarreling and it wasn't a pleasant place to be for me. I was asked to be a Welcomer and was so honored, however, the meanies made it a place that I didn't feel comfortable at (too negative and I mainly saw spam and discussions that had nothing to do with Moby), thus I left, and I don't know anything about the history of the board, nor did I know it was an entire decade in age, that is amazing considering most boards don't stay active that long, in fact, that is a major feat so you were all very blessed to have the boards as long as you did and you know the kind of person that Moby is, he has a genuine heart of gold and he only would have pulled down the board for a very good reason. Moby's message boards are going to be horribly missed; many true and loyal friendships were formed there, I'm eternally grateful to Moby for that.

Not only has Moby made amazing music for me to enjoy, but now I have amazing people / friends in my life that give me joy too.
