what i love about puppycam:
1-the puppies. i love that they have 2 states of being: chewing and sleeping. sometimes they even sort of combine the two, as in when they're 1/2 asleep but still chewing on the stuffed pumpkin toy. or when one puppy is asleep but one of his brothers/sisters is chewing on his leg. i don't know what kind of puppies these are, but they're my new role models.
2-i also love that in a world of web 2.0 and flash web sites and high-tech etc this web sit is a lo-res non-moving camera mounted in the corner of a homemade puppy kennel. there's no plot, there are no graphics, there are just a bunch of yelping, chewing, sleeping little puppies.
3-back to the puppies. i love that the puppies are utterly careless. well, maybe that's not true. they seem to care a lot about chewing on things. but they don't really care if they're falling down or being fallen on, even when they're sleeping. how is it that puppies can fall so heavily and effortlessly? are their little puppy bones made out of bouncy lead?
puppycam is like a perfect little utopia(which is probably why every person i know checks it a few times a day). they eat. they sleep. they chew. they fall down. and that's about it. so for every stressed office worker or graphic designer there exists this puppy utopia, representing the life that everyone kind of wishes they had.
i have a feeling that a few million people are going to need ptsd therapy when/if some of the puppies end up being sold/adopted, or even when they grow up. dogs are great, but they're not puppies, and they do a lot less adorable stuff. for now there are the puppies. as i write this: some of the puppies are sleeping. some of the puppies are chewing on each other. and one puppy is alternating between chewing on the stuffed pumpkin toy and another puppies leg. i mean, these puppies are never going to invent a segway or write a hilarious sitcom, but they seem to be as perfectly happy as any creature could ever hope to be.

the up side and down side of being a snuggly puppy
the up side of being a snuggly puppy (in a home that is good to puppies) -
a) get to snuggle and chew and play with other snuggly puppies
b) get plenty of unconditional adoration
c) no cares in the world - don't have to worry about climate change, wars or economic collapse
d) with a stroke luck, may get to form a life long bond with a lovely caring human being
the down side of being a puppy
a) don't get to choose where to live or who to live with when it's time to leave the nest
b) most probably don't get to maintain life long contact with siblings or mother
c) as a dog, probably don't get to go out on walks or hang out with a pack of mates or sniff the bottoms of other dogs nearly as often as desired

Not quite what I had in mind when I read your title at the missing journal at myspace. I had imagined a puppy cam was people's camera videos of their puppies that they submitted for a puppy beauty contests, you know, like babies have beauty contests too.
The puppycam link you have provided is off air at the moment, so I didn't get to see the live show, but I will check back later. Puppies are so adorable and dogs are so precious and smart. I was going to adopt a shitzu puppy in October, remember love, but I decided to wait on that until I'm in a house and things calm down with my heavy work, school schedule, Lil Brayden has so much going on with his therapies and such. As dogs are like children, they need alot of quality time. I will probably melt and get one soon after moving, I have this feeling of that, because I have been wanting to feel ready to have another dog again, after losing my Samson (Sammy) years back. I wasn't ready for another dog for a long time and then suddenly a few months ago I felt I was, but then when the time became near, I got anxious and nervous that perhaps I was rushing it with all of my responsibilities.
Yes, indeed, I need this puppycam too love. Sometimes my work modes make me too serious and I need to lighten up a little don't I....Oh My....
