this is a great add about global warming.

it's also a good site, with practical suggestions for leading a more eco-friendly life.
thanks

thank you for caring!
Moby, I was so thrilled to read your name on the list of musicians who care about the environment! I'm a student at the University of Southern California and I am the chairperson for Earth Week here on campus. It will be running from April 20-24 and I would absolutely LOVE for you to come play at an evening concert on campus any day of that week. Would you be interested?? If so, please email me at spazticaznchic@yahoo.com! Thank you so much and continue to fight on for our earth!
Moby Gratis Request (from a 7th grade teacher in the DC area)
Dear Moby,
Over a week ago five of my 7th grade students submitted requests for five songs on Moby Gratis. They were hoping to use the songs in their short films.
I had students submit their request using my Moby Gratis account-> gbmayo.
We have yet to hear back and it's been over five days. Any chance you could help us out and grant those licenses? Thanks very much! We really appreciate you making this music available. My students are pshyched to have access to such high-quality music they can use in their films.
PEACE. gbmayo

the climate change problem is already a total emergency
good to see you posting this kind of thing moby.
I just went and read a bit from the science section on that site. I've been doing a whole lot of reading about climate change lately and based on various things that I've read, I'd have to say that the some of the global warming science on that site is a little bit out-dated.
one of the best and most up to date books that i've read so far is "climate code red" by David Spratt and philipp sutton. A brief quote from the back cover of this book -
"This meticulously documented call-to-action reveals extensive scientific evidence that the global warming crisis is far worse than officially indicated - and that we're almost at the point of no return."
they have a website - www.climatecodered.net
and this is a very good NGO based in Victoria, Australia, which I think it needs to become an international network. http://www.climateemergencynetwork.org/
Climate Emergency Network Objectives
All levels of all governments across the globe must recognise and work together to fulfil their responsibility to secure a safe climate; it is their moral and legal duty-of-care to their citizens.
Underpinned by legislation, governments must lead a large scale transformation of the economy to a post-carbon society.
Given the extreme urgency and enormous scale of transformation required, governments must recognise and declare a Climate and Sustainability State of Emergency, whilst respecting basic human rights and freedoms.
The community must be engaged in recognising and supporting the Climate Emergency. Therefore, we will work to engage citizens in taking responsibility for recognising and responding to the emergency.
Unfortunately leading lives that are that bit more eco friendly is not going to be sufficient. According to what some recent changes in the biosphere indicate, a number of scientists (like James Hansen the director of NASA Goddard institte of space studies in NY) and various other people have come to the following conclusion - we need to not only drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions (by at least 90%), but we need to actually bring the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere down.
I bought a copy of an animal rights magazine with a special feature on global warming and there was a quote from you in there... "...livestock production is responsible for more than 20% of the greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. Again, to be blunt and plain: Livestock production is responsible for the release of more greenhouse gases than every car or SUV or pickup truck on the planet."
I agree that there is a problem of not enough attention given to the percentage of greenhouse gas emissions coming from livestock production. However I would have thought that the combined emissions of all every car, SUV or pickup truck on the planet would add up to even more than 20%. I'd be interested to know what your information source for that is.
a very recent scientific discovery of methane gas releases
one of the most recent scientific discoveries is that millions of tons of methane is now bubbling up out of the arctic sea

good thing to share...we forget these things are important...
Joshua Allen Harris makes these public art installations in the major cities with inflateable figures over the subway grates....It is also called "Subway Art"(like Keith Harings works) Cool, huh! Encouraging you to use public transport, like the subway...to help the environment, also. I have to check out this website..thanks...one thing i am proud of, being here in germany...the air is much better...germany is a leader in the efforts to reduce damage to the ozone...pollution damage...but, i do miss nyc life and culture and the pollution comes with it, doesn't it...
Another fun thing to share here on politics..."let them eat cake"....marie antoinette, the queen of france ...this was her answer to the people of france when they had no bread to eat....and the beginning of the French revolution....thank god king george is not allowed another term in office...the gov't needs to know, represent and relate to its people...
...in politics...of course the issues are important....
