thanks for coming to maxwell's last night, and thanks to chris for organizing everything.
hopefully everyone enjoyed the show.
i particularly liked la lacque and salt & samovar.
i love the return of the vintage organ, although as a collector
of vintage organs it does make them more expensive(simple supply and demand).
but at least they're being put to good use.
i'm writing in simple sentences because it's still quite early and my brain
hasn't developed the ability to craft complex sentences as of yet.
an aside: are all rabbits kind of dumb?
we were in a park in hoboken last night and there were a few rabbits hanging out
on the grass.
the rabbits were startled and ran towards, not away from, a big, black labrador.
luckily said labrador probably just wanted to play with the rabbits(like george from of mice and men), and didn't rend them limb from limb.
so, were these rabbits just dumb(running pretty much into the jaws of the dog), or was it some
nihilistic rabbit rite of passage, like the lupine equivalent of eating hot peppers or sky-diving?
or, as it was a park at night, were these stoner rabbits, hopped up on the left-handed marijuana cigarettes that are so popular with the young persons?
rabbit one: 'dude, look at that big black rabbit.'
rabbit two: 'no dude, that's like, a dog.'
rabbit one: 'no, it's like the UR-rabbit.'
rabbit two: 'oh, dude, you're totally right, let's go love it, man.'
stupid rabbits.
oh, i'm dj'ing tuesday night at the aptly named 'le paris' in milwaukee.
no, it's actually in paris. dj'ing at 'le paris' in paris(france, not wisconsin. although
if there was a paris, wisconsin i'd be happy to dj there, too).
so, maybe see you tuesday night in france.
and thanks again for coming to the show last night.

Moby, a party animal?
In the last couple of days, I've been reading in various rags about you being a party animal. I was hit in the head with a hammer when I read that you go out every night of the week to party (assuming that the direct quotes belonged to you and not the editor's). i've always envisioned you wearing a silk robe before eight at night, barefoot, sipping organic mint tea, and preparing for bed. All this after you've spent half the day meditating, undergone a colonic irrigation, taken an oatmeal bath, and spoken to the Dalai Lama on your iPhone.
But partying at a disco til the wee hours of the morning? I never would have believed even if you told me yourself.
Still a fan. Love the new album.
Moby and Party
Moby has been going out since he was young ! ... the other day he said the right way to party ... make your money then go nuts and party and drugs and such :P
Music is Life
a silk robe? are you kidding
a silk robe? are you kidding me?
come on, its totally a cotton robe. and an organic, fairly traded cotton robe at that!
;)
hahaha
I like'em lil rabbitz. But are you implying black labradors are dumb? :P
clarification- I am NOT Labradorist.
I meant no offense by my prior comment.
Black labradors (and yellow, and chocolate, and whatever other color they may come in) are wonderful. So are rabbits. Even drunk musicians can sometimes be wonderful.
Simply, the rabbits in the park probably see that lab every day. They know how fast the dog can run from prior observation. They may even be wary friends of a sort. Who knows? Faced with the choice between one familiar dog versus several invading New York musicians who had been imbibing, the rabbits went with the devil they know.
Now, if you're really asking who is smarter, the lab,the rabbits, or the musicians... that's another matter entirely. :)
Rabbits slipping away
First, your dedication and performance of Slipping Away to a fan and her family were lovely. Thanks again.
Second, so, the rabbits had a choice between running towards a pack of drunk musicians or facing down a single black lab... Not so silly rabbits...?
how to get in?
How could a simple fan like me get into an extremely exclusive club like leparis, paris? :-( I'd love to go!
re: how to get in?
Well evey, if you find out, let me know... because I've been asking myself the same question!

Cool Moby Experience
I am grateful for your music. I was on a fast attack submarine awhile back and started to listen to your sound. The genre I had been listening to prior to then had always been very dark.
When I started listening to what you channeled, it had a very healing affect on me. My favorite songs were the more ethereal and trance like ones; my favorite song line up was songs 11-15 on "Songs". I would frequently play these on repeat. The wild thing is that due to the sensory deprivation and the feel of the music I would go into some amazing states of mind and have some amazing visions. Your music really helped me to discover who I really was, and what I really should have been doing. I was and am an artist.
I have a style of art that was born on that ship that I attribute to what was shown to me during meditations deep under the ocean. I would love to share some of it with you but don't know where to send it.
Is there a way to send you images?
Namaste, and thank you for what you manifest.

Moby Gratis
Hey, I haven't found a way to contact you on mobygratis.com yet, so I'm doing this here instead. My point is that I'd be interested in submitting music for other people to use for free if they're interested. I haven't done a LOT, and I'm under no delusions that it's excellent stuff, but I like the purpose of your site (Your other site. Um. Not that this one is bad! I'm sure this is a very nice site too. The yellow is very . . . cheery.) and would like to contribute in even a small way. Please feel free to contact me at my email address.

Re The Rabbits
I enjoyed your djing at the Hiro Ballroom on April 3rd. I can't believe I missed the show last night. I hear it was wonderful and I hope you enjoy France. Also, I don't know where you're getting this “rabbits are stupid and loving (high)” idea from. Although I respect their rights, I find them to be quite frightening with their unusually large eyes and their terrifying furry coats. I remember my first encounter with a rabbit some 2 years ago. I was smoking on the porch of my college dorm (in Scranton, PA) at 2am in the morning and one of them just hopped onto the steps frolicking towards me like a crazed madman unable to stop. So, I did what anyone else would do. I dropped my cigarette on what seemed to be a wooden porch and ran into the dorm in a horrible panic. People laughed when I waited until it was gone to return outside but I knew better. Rabbit….the ultimate menace to society indeed! Again, enjoy France.
really, nicely done show.
